Sony’s Treat Codes contest is over. PlayStation’s official event page says “Treat Codes is now over,” so the 2022 codes cannot be treated as a current way to enter for a PS5. The promotion was announced on February 15, 2022, and its stated entry deadline was March 7, 2022, at 19:00 CET.
How the Treat Codes contest worked
Sony Interactive Entertainment announced a worldwide code hunt featuring 14 unique codes modeled on PlayStation controller inputs. Codes were to appear online, on social media, and in unexpected places connected with sports, games, films, and music. Each code could provide an opportunity to enter for a PS5; finding all 14 could provide up to 14 entry opportunities. A code did not guarantee a prize.
How participants entered in 2022
- Find one of the codes released as part of the promotion.
- Sign in to the Treat Codes page on PlayStation.com with an online PlayStation Network account.
- Enter the code correctly and answer the entry question.
- Submit by the announced deadline: March 7, 2022, at 19:00 CET.
These were the steps for the historical promotion, not instructions for an open contest today.
Eligibility and entry requirements announced by Sony
Sony’s 2022 announcement said no purchase was necessary. Entrants needed an internet connection and an online PSN account, and had to be legal residents of a participating territory, over 18, and at least the local age of majority. The announcement listed participating territories across the Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania, and noted exclusions and legal restrictions, including U.S. territories and possessions and overseas military installations. Those details summarize the terms announced for that contest; they should not be read as rules for a future promotion.

What is and is not known about the results
The official sources reviewed establish the number of codes and the announced entry process, but do not state the winner count, odds of winning, or the precise PS5 model or edition offered. It is therefore not possible to infer how many people won—or a participant’s chance of winning—from the 14 codes.
