Clear the opening quickly in Chapter Banner, stay inside the capture zone and land 10 Shield Bash hits in Make Your Stand, and track both the Bash counter and ally’s condition in Shield of the Imperium. Use the in-game directives as the final authority if an update changes the requirements.

How to complete Chapter Banner
This trial rewards a fast opening clear, followed by a controlled fight with a Tyranid Warrior. The ally-protection requirement matters alongside the time target, so avoid spending time on enemies that do not help you progress.
- Throw both Shock Grenades into the two opening Hormagaunt groups to thin them quickly.
- Move to the Tyranid Warrior. Parry its attacks to create a Gun Strike opening, then execute it.
- Use charged Plasma Pistol shots to finish distant Termagants.
- Watch the ally and intervene as needed to prevent incapacitation while keeping the clear moving.
This sequence comes from a third-party walkthrough, not an official manual; use it as a practical route rather than a guarantee of a particular grade.

The objective zone is the priority here: leaving to chase enemies can delay progress. Get into the zone, keep the shield ready, and complete the 10-hit Shield Bash objective while managing incoming pressure.

- When enemies close in, land Shield Bash hits until the counter reaches 10. Keep track of the counter rather than assuming nearby hits counted.
- Parry attacks that can be parried to manage enemies without abandoning the zone.
- Use the Plasma Pistol, grenades, and Chapter Banner as needed to control pressure, while avoiding unnecessary pursuits outside the objective area.
How to complete Shield of the Imperium
This trial combines a 120-second target with the same 10-hit Shield Bash requirement and an ally-protection objective. The available walkthrough describes it as similar to the earlier Bulwark challenge but does not give a distinct step-by-step route.
- Start tracking Shield Bash hits early so the 10-hit requirement does not become a last-minute task.
- Keep the ally-protection requirement in view and respond if the ally is at risk of incapacitation.
- Clear remaining enemies efficiently without losing time to unnecessary detours.
Because the published route does not establish a more detailed sequence for this trial, follow the on-screen directives and adapt the same zone-control and pressure-management habits to the encounter.

Focus and Saber’s Patch 15.0 announcement, dated October 1, 2026, describes new Trials of Resolve ordeals for Vanguard and Heavy; it does not report changes to the original three Bulwark class trials. Patch 15 also adds the One-Handed Thunder Hammer to Bulwark, but the announcement does not say that the weapon changes the fixed trial loadouts or directives. Trials of Resolve and the PvE Crucible are separate from the three Bulwark class trials in the Armouring Hall. Do not use their challenge requirements as a substitute for the Bulwark trial directives.
