Chapter 2: Neon Revenge

Find the bubble at the start of the mission, immediately after a story cutscene.

Farmlife — Streets of Neon
Near the elevators used to continue the main route, look to the right instead of taking the elevators.
Mountain Hike — Big City Life
At the portable-toilet sequence, turn around. Use the toilet to reach the balcony, then kick down the ladder for your partner. This entrance is easy to miss because it lacks the audio cue heard at other side stories.

Chapter 3: Hopes of Spring
Train Heist — Lord Evergreen
Late in the mission, the main route jumps over poles on the left. Take the route to the right, then wall-run and swing to the bubble.
Gameshow — Walking Stick of Doom
After crossing a bridge into a large open area, take the left path rather than the right.
Collapsing Star — Halls of Ice
When you reach the castle entrance, look to the right for the side-story entrance.

Chapter 4: Final Dawn
Kites — Toxic Tumblers
In the hallway with large moving cylinders, continue to the far end instead of taking the left route.
Moon Market — Test Chamber
In the gate hallway, reach the section with four moving platforms and take the left path rather than continuing forward.
Notebook — Soaring Desperados
At the large pipe you cross with a jetpack, use the jetpack to reach the bubble on the pipe’s left side.

Slopes of War — Water Temple
At the two golden globes, turn left and use the platforms to reach the entrance.
Space Escape — Craft Temple
At the start, leave the cave and take the path to the right instead of continuing forward.
Birthday Cake — Treasure Temple
At the start, follow the path beside the pink crystals, then take the left path rather than the right-hand temple route.

How to check Bookworms completion
Chapter select shows each side story’s status. “???” means you have not played it; a blue dot means it was played but did not count as complete; a checkmark means it counts for Bookworms. You can replay side stories, and you can invite a partner to one you have already completed.
PowerPyx notes that checkpoint skipping is available, but the final checkpoint must be completed without skipping for the story to receive its completion checkmark. EA’s accessibility guide lists an option to skip to the next checkpoint; its menu information describes the US English version for PC and consoles.
What to expect in each side story
These short premise descriptions can help you recognize the kind of detour you are choosing; they do not indicate difficulty or completion time.
- The Legend of the Sandfish: a cooperative escape sequence.
- Farmlife: the pair become pigs.
- Mountain Hike: avoid giants.
- Train Heist: a side-scrolling chase.
- Gameshow: pass ticking bombs.
- Collapsing Star: take cover from lethal sunlight.
- Kites: a flying race.
- Moon Market: a cat-rescue adventure.
- Notebook: a storybook-style rescue.
- Slopes of War: a futuristic snowboard challenge.
- Space Escape: zero-gravity traversal.
- Birthday Cake: a cartoon platforming sequence that ends in a dentist’s office.
Playing together and accessibility
EA describes Split Fiction as a two-player co-op adventure. Its Friend’s Pass lets an invited friend play without buying a second full copy. EA Help says one player must own the full game to continue beyond the first two levels of the free demo; the pass supports online play on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. EA’s game page also links to platform stores, including Nintendo Switch 2. Check current platform terms and availability before playing.
EA’s accessibility information for the US English PC and console versions lists subtitles enabled by default for both players, optional closed captions and subtitle backgrounds, separate camera-sensitivity adjustment, control remapping, and checkpoint skipping.
