ssoplatform.dll is a Tencent SSO Platform component installed by a Tencent application, not a Windows system DLL. If Windows says ssoplatform.dll is missing, was not found, or could not be loaded, repair the Tencent program that needs it instead of downloading a replacement DLL.
Identify the file before changing anything
ssoplatform.dll supports shared Tencent functions such as sign-in, authentication, and launcher communication. It has been found with QQ, QQ Browser, QQ Phone Manager, Tencent Game Assistant, WeGame, Tencent game launchers, and other Tencent packages.

The exact owner cannot be determined from the filename alone. Several Tencent programs can install separate copies.

Common legitimate-looking locations include a Tencent application folder containing TXSSOBin, a QQPCMgr directory, or a game launcher path such as LaunchertxssoBin. The file may also appear under a shared Tencent directory in Program Files or Program Files (x86).

Do not assume that a file belongs in C:WindowsSystem32 or C:WindowsSysWOW64. ssoplatform.dll is application-owned and is not supplied by Windows.
Match the error to the affected program
These messages can appear when a Tencent application starts:
- “The program can’t start because ssoplatform.dll is missing from your computer.”
- “The code execution cannot proceed because ssoplatform.dll was not found.”
- “There was a problem starting ssoplatform.dll.”
- “Error loading ssoplatform.dll. The specified module could not be found.”
- “ssoplatform.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.”
- “The procedure entry point could not be located in the dynamic link library ssoplatform.dll.”
A message saying “the specified module could not be found” does not always mean that ssoplatform.dll itself is absent. A dependent runtime or neighboring Tencent file may be missing.

Before repairing anything, record:
- The complete error text.
- The program name shown in the dialog.
- The full path, if Windows displays one.
- Any status code, such as
0xc0000006.
Then search the drive for ssoplatform.dll:
- Press Windows key + E.
- Select This PC.
- In the search box, enter
ssoplatform.dll. - Wait for the search to finish.
- Record every matching path.
Check the nearest parent folders. Names such as TencentQQ, TencentWeGame, TXSSO, QQPCMgr, QQBrowser, and Launchertxsso can identify the owning product.
You can also right-click each copy, select Properties, and inspect Details and Digital Signatures. A Tencent signature supports the file’s provenance, but it is not absolute proof of safety. A familiar filename can be used by unwanted software.
Fix 1: Repair or reinstall the Tencent application
This is the safest and most likely solution when QQ, WeGame, Tencent Game Assistant, a Tencent game launcher, or a specific game reports the error.
Use the program’s repair feature
Open the affected Tencent application’s launcher or maintenance utility. Look for a command named Repair, Verify, Scan and repair, or Verify files.

For a game launcher:
- Open the launcher.
- Select the affected game.
- Open its menu, often represented by three dots or a gear icon.
- Choose Verify, Repair, or Scan and repair.
- Allow the launcher to replace damaged or missing files.
- Restart Windows and launch the program again.
A successful repair should restore ssoplatform.dll together with related files such as SSOCommon.dll, SSOHelpSdk.dll, or SSOMsf.dll. These files should come from the same installation, not from separate download sources.
Reinstall the owning program
If repair is unavailable or fails:
- Close the Tencent application and its launcher.
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- End any remaining process belonging to the affected program or launcher.
- Open Start → Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
- Find the Tencent application.
- Select its three-dot menu and choose Uninstall.
- Restart Windows.
- Download the installer from the Tencent product’s official page, the Microsoft Store listing where applicable, or the game’s official launcher.
- Install it normally rather than copying an old program folder.
- Start the application and test it.
If the program is not listed in Installed apps, open Control Panel → Programs → Programs and Features, select it, and choose Uninstall.
Copying a QQ or game directory from another computer can omit shared components, configuration, services, and dependencies. A normal installation on the affected computer is more reliable.
Fix 2: Check whether antivirus quarantined the file
Security software may remove a damaged, altered, or suspicious Tencent component. Do not assume that every detection is a false positive.

- Open Start and search for Windows Security.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Choose Protection history.
- Review recent quarantine entries.
- Open an entry related to the Tencent program.
- Note the original file path and detection name.
- Confirm that the file belongs to the Tencent installation you trust.
Restore a quarantined file only when the application installation and its source are trusted and the file has a valid expected signature. Microsoft warns that restoring a quarantined file puts it back on the device and may cause Defender to detect it again.
If the file came from a crack, unofficial game launcher, repack, random download, or an unexpected user-profile folder, leave it quarantined. Uninstall the associated software and run a full security scan instead.
After restoring a legitimate file, use the Tencent application’s repair or verify function so related files are restored with the same build.

Fix 3: Repair a missing dependency
If ssoplatform.dll exists in the correct Tencent folder but Windows still reports that the module cannot be found, a dependency may be missing.
Use this order:
- Repair or reinstall the Tencent application.
- Install the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable required by that application.
- Restart Windows.
- Test the program again.
Microsoft provides separate packages for x86, x64, and ARM64 systems. A 32-bit Tencent application generally needs the x86 package even when Windows is 64-bit. Do not choose a package only because it matches the Windows architecture.
The latest Visual C++ package is not automatically a replacement for every older application-specific runtime. If the Tencent installer identifies a particular runtime, follow that requirement.
For a game or launcher that specifically requires older DirectX components, use Microsoft’s DirectX End-User Runtime installer. DirectX does not normally install ssoplatform.dll; installing it is not a primary fix for this error.
Fix 4: Check 32-bit and 64-bit compatibility
Historical public records contain 32-bit examples of this Tencent DLL, while newer Tencent packages can contain different builds. The filename does not establish the correct architecture or version.

That is a useful clue, not conclusive proof. Do not replace a file with a 64-bit copy, an older copy from another Tencent product, or a DLL taken from another computer.
If the message says the file is “not designed to run on Windows,” or mentions an entry point that cannot be found, suspect a damaged or mismatched binary. Reinstall the owning application so its executable and SSO files are restored as a matching set.

Fix 5: Repair Windows components with DISM and SFC
DISM and SFC repair Windows component corruption. They generally do not recreate a third-party Tencent DLL that was removed from an application directory.
Use these commands when several applications have unexplained system-file errors, Windows Update is malfunctioning, or the Tencent installer itself cannot run correctly.

- Search for Command Prompt.
- Right-click it and choose Run as administrator.
- Run:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- Wait for DISM to complete successfully.
- Then run:
sfc /scannow
- Wait until the scan reaches 100 percent.
- Restart Windows.
- Repair or reinstall the Tencent application again.
If SFC reports that it found and repaired corrupted files, retest after restarting. If it reports that some files could not be repaired, repeat the Tencent installation repair rather than trying to place ssoplatform.dll in a system folder.

Fix 6: Update Windows and relevant drivers
A driver update is not a normal replacement for ssoplatform.dll, but update Windows and device drivers if the program also crashes, graphics components fail, or other applications show launch problems.
To check Windows Update:
- Open Start → Settings → Windows Update.
- Select Check for updates.
- Install available updates.
- Restart Windows.
To inspect drivers:
- Right-click Start and select Device Manager.
- Expand categories such as Display adapters, Sound, video and game controllers, and System devices.
- Right-click the relevant device.
- Select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for drivers.
- Restart if Windows installs an update.
Do not replace a Tencent application DLL with a driver file. What not to do
Do not:
- Download
ssoplatform.dllfrom a random DLL download site. - Copy it into
System32orSysWOW64. - Mix files from QQ, WeGame, QQ Browser, and game launchers.
- Rename another DLL to
ssoplatform.dll. - Treat an old version listing as the universally correct version.
- Disable antivirus protection just to make an unknown file run.
- Use
regsvr32 ssoplatform.dllas a routine repair.
regsvr32 is intended for DLLs that provide a registration entry point such as DllRegisterServer. Most runtime and application DLLs are not registered this way. The command may produce an entry-point error and will not fix a missing dependency, wrong architecture, corruption, or incomplete installation.
If the file is in a suspicious location
Investigate further when the file is under %TEMP%, an unknown download folder, or a random user-profile directory rather than a Tencent application folder.
Also be cautious when:
- The file has no valid Tencent digital signature.
- The problem began after installing pirated software, a cheat, crack, or unofficial launcher.
- Several Tencent-named files appeared at the same time.
- Security software identifies the file as malware or a potentially unwanted program.
Run a full scan in Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Scan options → Full scan. Do not restore the file merely because an application says it is missing.

Is ssoplatform.dll a Windows file?
No. It is associated with Tencent’s SSO Platform and is normally installed inside the Tencent application that uses it.

Will Visual C++ or DirectX fix it?
They may repair a missing dependency in a particular application, but neither normally supplies ssoplatform.dll. Repair the Tencent application first.
Why does Windows say the module is missing when the file exists?
A dependent library may be absent, the file may be damaged, the architecture may be wrong, or the application may be loading another copy. Repair the complete installation rather than replacing only this DLL.
Can I restore it manually?
Only in a narrow case where antivirus removed a verified file from a trusted installation and you have the matching file from the same official installer. Do not mix builds or download an arbitrary copy.
What if reinstalling does not work?
Record the exact path, error code, signature result, and application version shown by the official launcher. Check quarantine again, repair the relevant Visual C++ dependency, and scan for unwanted software if the file path is suspicious.
