If Star Wars Outlaws keeps crashing on PC, start by checking the game’s requirements and recording exactly when the crash happens. Then test the reversible steps below one at a time. They are troubleshooting checks, not guaranteed fixes: the available official notes document one narrowly scoped crash fix, not a universal cure for PC crashes.
Try these eight checks, one at a time
After each change, repeat the same action that caused the crash if possible. That makes it easier to tell whether the change affected the problem. If the game will not launch, skip checks that require changing in-game settings.

- Record when and how it crashes. Note whether the failure happens at launch, while loading a save, after a repeatable action, or only after some time playing. Write down any error message. The pattern does not identify the cause on its own, but it gives support a useful starting point.
- Compare your PC with Ubisoft’s requirements. Check your processor, graphics card and its VRAM, memory, Windows and DirectX versions, and—if you are using the listed Intel Arc minimum configuration—whether ReBAR is enabled. Ubisoft’s published requirements describe target configurations; meeting the minimum is not a promise that every system will be crash-free.
- Confirm the game is installed on an SSD and there is enough room. Ubisoft lists a 65 GB SSD requirement. Check the drive that holds the game and its available space before considering hardware changes. An SSD is relevant if your current storage does not meet the stated requirement; buying one is not a general crash fix.
- Install the game update offered by your launcher. Check the patch notes for the version actually available to you. Ubisoft’s Title Update 1.5.1 notes, dated February 6, 2025, mention support for NVIDIA 50-series GPUs on PC and a fix for a crash on a streaming platform while travelling to Renpalli Station. That specific fix does not establish that ordinary PC crashes are fixed. Read Ubisoft’s 1.5.1 notes; do not assume that page describes the current version.
- Temporarily remove overclocks or tuning. If you have changed CPU, GPU, or memory settings, return them to a known stable baseline and retest. This is a way to isolate variables, not a confirmed Outlaws-specific cause.
- Temporarily simplify overlays and background software. Close or disable optional overlays and background apps for a test, then restore them one at a time. If the symptom changes, that correlation may help narrow down the setup; this is a general troubleshooting experiment, not an official game-specific fix.
- Try a simpler graphics configuration. If you can reach the settings menu, lower graphics settings or temporarily turn off optional enhancements, then retry the same scene or action. Ubisoft lists rendering and upscaling options in its PC requirements, but the available official information does not identify any particular option as a cause of crashes.
- Report the crash if it persists. Use Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws Bug Reporter to submit a new report or track an existing one, or contact Ubisoft Support. Include the crash point, expected and actual behavior, steps to reproduce it, and any workaround you tried. Images or video can help. For persistent PC issues, Ubisoft asks players to attach DxDiag and MSInfo reports.
Check what your PC is being compared against
Ubisoft’s requirements page lists two target profiles. The minimum profile targets 1080p at 30 FPS on Low with quality upscaling; the recommended profile targets 1080p at 60 FPS on High with quality upscaling. These are performance targets, not crash guarantees.

If your PC is below the minimum profile, that is a reason to investigate compatibility before treating the crash as a confirmed game defect. A PC that meets or exceeds it can still crash; the requirements alone cannot identify the cause.

When a crash is worth reporting
A repeatable crash is especially useful to document: note the save, location, action, and approximate point at which the failure occurs. Ubisoft’s Bug Reporter asks for where the issue happens, expected behavior, reproduction steps, workarounds, and supporting material such as images or video. For persistent PC performance problems, Ubisoft’s guidance is to contact support with DxDiag and MSInfo reports. These details help support assess your case; they do not guarantee a particular response or fix.
