Star Wars Outlaws Title Update 1.4.0 arrived on November 21, 2024, with changes to stealth, combat, accessibility, controls, visuals and quests. Ubisoft described it at the time as the game’s fourth and biggest patch yet; that was a statement about the update’s standing in November 2024, not a claim about later releases.
When did Star Wars Outlaws update 1.4.0 release?
Ubisoft released Title Update 1.4.0 across all platforms on November 21, 2024. It launched alongside the game’s Steam release and the Wild Card story pack. The official notes list build 7309905 and these platform-specific versions and download sizes:

These are the version strings and package sizes in Ubisoft’s November 21, 2024 1.4.0 notes, not current download-size guidance. Ubisoft’s launch announcement also said cross-progression was enabled across platforms at that time.
What changed in stealth and combat?
The update gave players more ways to approach some encounters in city syndicate territories, where combat became possible in locations that had previously constrained the choice to stealth. Ubisoft also adjusted enemy detection and tactics, and added feedback intended to make detection easier to read. These are the changes described in the patch notes, not a claim that stealth was universally fixed or combat became easier.

Stealth and enemy behavior
- Improved enemy detection and tactical decision-making; the interface now signals when an NPC begins detecting Kay.
- Adjusted camera-detection indicators, with new accessibility controls for their size and clarity.
- Enabled combat in some syndicate districts and locations.
- Added weak points to selected enemies.
- Fixed cases involving whistling alerts, aggressive actions in high grass, and hostile NPCs incorrectly marked as friendly.
Weapons, damage and encounters
- Changed Kay’s blaster spread, recoil and weapon damage values, and increased headshot damage.
- Adjusted enemy damage: each shot deals less damage, while damage cadence increases faster over time.
- Made it possible to keep two-handed pickup weapons in more situations.
- Improved use of Ion and Power blaster modules, removed player blast damage from the Power module, and added enemy stagger from explosions.
- Updated body-part-specific death animations and improved NPC use of cover.
The patch also changed how prompts identify useful blaster modules when aiming at heavy guards, droids or cameras. Ubisoft’s notes describe tuning and specific fixes; they do not report independent balance tests or measured player outcomes.
What interface, camera and presentation options were added?
Several changes make information and aiming easier to read. NPC state tags distinguish neutral (white), aware (orange) and combat (red) states. Objective pings became more prominent, icons identify objects that require unlockable abilities, Nix quick-action targeting became clearer, and takedown warnings were improved.

- Camera adjustments improve shooting, aiming and cover views; players can manually swap shoulders while aiming.
- Gameplay dialogue and vendors gained facial animation, and selected scenes were improved.
- World updates address destructible flora and waterfall effects, extend visible light distance, and improve some grass and mud visuals at a distance.
- Photo Mode gained a clean-lens option.
Ubisoft also changed Adrenaline Rush costs by difficulty: Story remains at 100%, Normal is 110%, and Challenging/Hard is 150%. These are the settings values stated in the patch notes.
Which accessibility and control changes are included?
The new custom controller preset allows individual button remapping, with separate configurations for Kay, the speeder and the Trailblazer. Other additions include:

- Automatic transfer between climbable objects when moving toward them.
- Adjustable size and clarity for security-camera detection-area visuals.
- Separate sliders for gameplay audio and background sounds.
- Menu narration speed up to 400%, plus narration for lockpicking, slicing, objective hints, and Sabacc card focus, draw and discard.
- A gameplay toggle to turn off cinematic lens distortion, fringing and vignetting.
- “Fill screen” as the default screen ratio, making initial-menu text larger.
What quests and other bugs did 1.4.0 fix?
Ubisoft marked the quest-fix section as containing spoilers. It lists fixes for “Rejected” on Toshara, “The Veteran” and “Partners” on Tatooine, and “Revelator” on Akiva. Other fixes address achievement and trophy tracking for ramming ships, unlocking “Shoot First” alongside “The Better,” and a Ubisoft Connect challenge involving Death Troopers.

In its November 21, 2024 notes, Ubisoft said it had deployed a temporary v1.4.1 hotfix for affected Windows 11 version 24H2 players. It warned that performance problems might continue while a more permanent fix was in progress. That dated notice does not establish the game’s current compatibility status with Windows 11 24H2 or later Windows releases.
