It added a handful of targeted gameplay adjustments and focused largely on bug fixes and localization. It was not the broader 1.6 update, which launched on PC on March 19, and it was followed by 1.6.7 on April 27.
What changed in Stardew Valley 1.6.6?
Developer ConcernedApe described the patch as having “nothing too big in terms of gameplay additions or changes,” while highlighting bug fixes and translation adjustments. The gameplay changes were specific rather than a broad rebalance.

- Bee houses can now use flowers planted in garden pots.
- The alternative minecart depot layout is restricted to the upper mine or lava area.
- The Gold Clock can be turned on or off.
- Raccoons can trade coal for mahogany seeds.
- The 50% mastery XP effect now applies only to farming, as originally intended.

What changed for Chinese and Russian players?
Version 1.6.6 adjusted fonts and translated assets, with different changes for each language.

Chinese
- Chinese text and the default font reverted to their version 1.6.3 state.
- The smoother font introduced in 1.6.4 remained available as an option.
- A dialogue font-size slider was added.
Russian
- Translated sprites for movies and the Desert Festival were completed.
- Players gained an option to use the older font.
Which bugs did 1.6.6 fix?
The fix list covered a range of individual issues, not every possible bug. It included changes involving multiplayer raccoon cutscenes, Pierre’s Missing Stocklist, wilted bouquets, Skull Cavern omni-geode output, volcano access, and a Forest Farm map tile. It also addressed crashes from invalid animal-home saves and a French Penny dialogue, as well as German event errors.
Other fixes covered farmhand prize edge cases and outfits, plus behavior on the Linux and macOS compatibility branch. Whether the patch addresses a particular problem depends on the issue; check the official notes for a named fix rather than assuming 1.6.6 resolved it.
What did 1.6.6 change for modded games?
The patch addressed mod-related errors involving roe display, missing NPC family data, changed or removed enchanted-weapon IDs, custom-weather soft locks, seasonal tilesheets, and custom fish sprites.
It also added two fields for mod authors in Data/Objects: CanBeGivenAsGift and CanBeTrashed. Setting CanBeGivenAsGift to false automatically adds the not_giftable context tag.

Was 1.6.6 the latest Stardew Valley update?
No. The developer’s Steam archive dates 1.6.7 to April 27, 2024, the day after the 1.6.6 announcement. The follow-up fixed a bug that prevented players from giving Pierre the Missing Stock List, along with compatibility-branch issues affecting some machines and Desert Festival logic on Linux and macOS. These dates describe the PC patch sequence in April 2024; they do not establish the latest game version across every platform today.

How 1.6.6 fits into the 1.6 update
The PC version of the larger 1.6 update launched on March 19, 2024, more than a month before 1.6.6. The official 1.6 update announcement marks that original release. The 1.6.6 label refers to a later patch, not the initial 1.6 launch.
