When does the Steam free weekend end?
The listed Squad 44 event ends Monday, October 12, 2026, at 10 AM Pacific Time (PT). Convert that time to your own time zone if you plan to play near the cutoff; the stated time is not automatically your local time.

Steamworks says Free Weekends typically run from Thursday at 10 AM Pacific to Monday at 10 AM Pacific, but that is a general pattern, not a schedule guarantee. Follow the specific event announcement for its cutoff. Steam also notes that promotions may be spaced out to avoid overlapping events. What happens when the promotion ends?
A Steam Free Weekend is a temporary trial of an eligible game’s base game, accessed through its current app ID. It is not the same as a separate demo build, which has its own demo app ID, or a free-to-play game that remains available at no cost. When the event ends, Steam removes the temporary free package from the store page. Participants may still see the game in their library, but they can only uninstall it; continuing to play requires purchasing the full version. How to check for changes
- Open Steam’s official News search for “free weekend”.
- Check the dated result and its stated start and end times. Use the event-specific announcement rather than assuming every promotion follows the usual Thursday-to-Monday schedule.
- Refresh the listing close to the time you plan to play. Steam’s search results can change as events are announced or expire.
