The ship becomes available at Ops 40, but the newer NX-01 Mastery system is a separate unlock at Ops 71. If you have Mastery, five daily claims are combined into one free claim through Independent Archives.
What the NX-01 Refinery does
This is an in-game exchange and claim system linked to the Enterprise NX-01, Xindi activity, and Ex-Borg progression—not the standard refinery used to process mined materials. Scopely’s Enterprise NX-01 announcement describes a loop in which Xindi-Reptilian hostiles provide scraps, which can be used in the refinery to obtain Delphic Expanse travel tokens. Xindi-Aquatic loot can be exchanged for Ex-Borg credits, and Epic Credits can be exchanged for PIC Hugh shards and other rewards.

Scopely’s original feature announcement also lists Ex-Borg credits of all rarities, exclusive PIC Hugh shards, and the NX-01 refit among the refinery’s rewards. Those original feature details explain the system’s broader purpose; the later Mastery update describes how several claims are now consolidated for eligible players.
Unlocks: Ops 40 ship access versus Ops 71 Mastery
| Milestone | What it means | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Ops 40 and above | The Enterprise NX-01 becomes available. This is the ship-access threshold, not the Mastery unlock. | Scopely Update 63 Patch Notes |
| Ops 71 | Enterprise NX-01 Mastery can be unlocked through Independent Archives. | Scopely Update 91 Patch Notes |
Reaching Ops 40 does not by itself mean you have the Ops 71 Mastery claim. Check the relevant unlock in Independent Archives if you are looking for the consolidated daily option.

What the Mastery Claim combines
At Ops 71, after unlocking NX-01 Mastery through Independent Archives, the free daily Mastery Claim combines these five claims, according to Scopely’s Update 91 notes:
- Xindi-Aquatic Exchange
- Scrap Trade
- Picard Hugh Claim
- Picard Refit Reward Claim
- NX-Isolinear Array Claim
Players without the Mastery unlock should not assume the consolidated claim is available. The update describes it as a daily free claim; it does not establish that every reward or quantity is identical across accounts.

How the Xindi and Ex-Borg reward loop works
- Fight Xindi-Reptilian hostiles. Scopely’s NX-01 announcement says these hostiles provide scraps.
- Use scraps in the refinery. The scraps can be exchanged for Delphic Expanse travel tokens.
- Exchange Xindi-Aquatic loot. The refinery exchange converts this loot into Ex-Borg credits.
- Use Epic Credits for PIC Hugh rewards. Scopely says Epic Credits can be exchanged for PIC Hugh shards and other rewards.
Players who have the NX-01 refit can claim an additional daily travel token through its free claim bundle, as described in the original NX-01 announcement.
Why your claim rewards may differ
Scopely says relevant NX-01 Refits, Prime Nodes, and Ex-Borg Favor Levels can improve rewards granted through the Mastery Claim. The exact effect depends on the unlocks that apply to your account. Scopely’s NX-01 Help Center entry points players to the in-game bundle information for reward scaling; its published text does not provide a complete current reward table for every player state.

- Use the live in-game bundle or claim details for your account’s quantities rather than relying on a universal reward number.
NX-01 Refinery versus the standard Refinery
The ordinary Starbase Refinery is a separate system. Scopely describes it as processing mined Ore, Gas, and Crystal into refined materials used for ships, the base, and research. Its access can depend on grade, rarity, and Operations progression. Those standard-refinery thresholds are not the NX-01 Mastery requirement: Mastery is the separate Ops 71 unlock described in Update 91. See Scopely’s Refinery Help Center article for the standard system.
