The Sword of Sir Valentine is a craftable shortsword in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, obtained through The Reliquary quest. You do not find the original sword in the monastery crypt: inspect the carving on Sir Valentine’s tomb, forge a replica, and return it to the Humble Knight near Sedletz Monastery. The handoff leads to a confrontation, so prepare for a speech check or a fight.
Where to find the Sword of Sir Valentine
Start The Reliquary by speaking to the Humble Knight near Sedletz Monastery. The quest asks you to find Sir Valentine’s sword in the monastery crypt, but the weapon is not lying in the tomb. Instead, interact with Sir Valentine’s tomb and study the image on its lid: it provides the design clue needed to make a replica. How to forge a replica
After learning the sketch or recipe from the tomb, take it to a smith and craft the replica. A community item reference lists one of each of these six materials:
- Coin sword pommel
- Copper
- Cow skin
- Frankfurt steel
- Scrap metal
- Straight sword guard

What happens when you return it
The Humble Knight’s request is deceptive. Returning the replica triggers a confrontation: the walkthrough describes a speech check or combat as possible ways to deal with him. A community wiki also reports that killing the charlatan and taking the sword can leave it flagged as stolen, but that behavior has not been verified for a specific patch. If avoiding a fight matters to you, save before handing over the replica.
