How Mists of Slumber works
Mists of Slumber releases a faint purple mist and buffs the sword. The item reference lists the skill’s FP cost as 20 and describes the buff as lasting 30 seconds, adding 20 sleep buildup to the blade on top of its listed innate 66. Those duration and buildup details are community reference data, not independent measurements.
Bandai Namco’s Patch 1.06 notes, dated August 9, 2022, record a fix for a bug that caused the weapon effect added by Mists of Slumber to disappear when the player received an attack. That patch note documents a historical fix; it does not establish a current damage ranking or guarantee a particular build’s performance.

The Sword of St. Trina upgrades with Somber Smithing Stones and reaches +10. Its skill and affinity cannot be changed, so its identity as a sleep weapon is fixed rather than something you can reconfigure through Ashes of War. The reference lists +10 attack power as 262 physical and 78 magic; these are listed item values, not independently tested damage outcomes.
Is the Sword of St. Trina worth using?
It is a candidate for a character that meets its Intelligence requirement and wants a straight sword with innate sleep buildup plus a skill that adds more. Whether it suits a particular build depends on the player’s stats and preferred weapon; the available item figures do not establish that it is best-in-slot or provide tested comparisons against other weapons.
Check the item name carefully if you are following a guide: the Velvet Sword of St. Trina is a separate weapon. Do not assume its eternal-sleep properties apply to the Sword of St. Trina, which the item reference describes with ordinary sleep buildup.
In-game description
“Silver sword carried by clerics of St. Trina. Inflicts sleep ailment upon foes. St. Trina is an enigmatic figure. Some say she is a comely young girl, others are sure he is a boy. The only certainty is that their appearance was as sudden as their disappearance.”
