Its current official synopsis describes a post-Judgment Day survival story, but the development plan has changed: a December 2025 update dropped co-op and Early Access, and gave no new release date.
From the 2022 reveal to Terminator: Survivors
Nacon Studio Milan announced the project as Terminator Survival Project at Nacon Connect on 7 July 2022. The studio described an open-world game with an original story set between Judgment Day and the rise of John Connor’s Resistance. Read the original announcement.

At Nacon Connect on 29 February 2024, the project received its final announced name, Terminator: Survivors, alongside key art and a trailer. At that time, the developer planned a Steam Early Access launch for 24 October 2024 and described solo and co-op play, with console availability to follow later. Those plans are no longer current. What is the game about?
The current official game page places the story four years after Judgment Day. The player emerges from a shelter into a devastated world, seeking to rebuild society and investigate the nuclear apocalypse and Skynet. The synopsis describes fighting early Skynet prototypes, helping the Resistance emerge, and avoiding a T-800; remaining in one place for too long is presented as dangerous. The 2024 announcement situated the original story after the first two Terminator films. In a developer update dated 27 June 2024, art director Mauro Ferrari said the team aimed to make the world realistic and consistent with the conflict depicted in James Cameron’s saga. That update reflects the project at that time, rather than confirming details of the later redesign. Read the June 2024 developer update.
How have the release plans changed?
On 16 December 2025, creative director Marco Ponte said the game would no longer launch in Early Access. The studio instead wanted its first release to be a complete, polished experience. Ponte also said co-op was being set aside to focus on the shooting and exploration experience, and that the game would not launch in 2025. The update did not announce a replacement date. That makes the previously announced 24 October 2024 Early Access date obsolete. The 2024 announcement’s co-op plan is also superseded by the 2025 update; it should not be treated as a current feature.

What platforms and editions are listed?
Nacon’s publisher page lists PlayStation 5 Standard and Digital editions, plus digital options for PC and Xbox. The listing does not establish a release date, current availability, or whether a physical PS5 disc edition is on sale. Check the publisher’s current listing for platform and edition details rather than assuming a product page means the game is available to buy. Check Nacon’s game page.

What is not yet confirmed?
The official FAQ published on 2 May 2024 asked why the developers chose this timeline and whether the game would use first- or third-person view. Those questions show what players were asking during the earlier version of the project, but its answers and design details predate the December 2025 overhaul. The later update does not reconfirm those specifics, so the older FAQ should not be used as proof of the current design. Read the official FAQ.
Based on the latest dated release-plan update cited here, there is no confirmed new launch date. The publisher’s platform listings likewise do not verify current stock, a physical format, or when any edition will be available.
