For configurable farm-building styles, consider Elle’s Seasonal Buildings. For seasonal and occasion-specific villager outfits, look at Diverse Stardew Valley – Seasonal Outfits. If you prefer a restrained seasonal treatment of vanilla buildings, Elle’s Seasonal Vanilla Buildings is an option, with an important caveat for map recolors.
Choose a mod by what you want to change
These options work on different visual layers, so they are not interchangeable. A building mod changes farm structures and related scenery; an outfit mod changes characters; a broader expansion adds gameplay content alongside some visual changes. The pages do not establish a complete compatibility matrix or a universal ranking, so treat each as a fit for a particular goal rather than a guaranteed best choice.

| Elle’s Seasonal Buildings | Farm buildings, farmhouse styles, and optional related recolors | Players who want to choose among building palettes, themes, and seasonal options | Some palettes are built for particular map recolors; match the options and check current notes. |
| Diverse Stardew Valley – Seasonal Outfits | Character variants and clothing | Players who want villagers’ looks to reflect weather, seasons, festivals, or story situations | Requires SMAPI and lists additional required mods; check the live requirements. |
| Elle’s Seasonal Vanilla Buildings | Seasonal overlays for vanilla buildings and winter town roofs | Players who want seasonal building changes while keeping vanilla maps | Made with vanilla maps in mind; the page says it does not currently include dependencies for compatibility with map recolors. |
For configurable farm buildings: Elle’s Seasonal Buildings
This is the broadest building-focused choice in this group. Its page lists seven color palettes, three building themes, eight farmhouse styles, configurable farmhouse wall colors, and seasonal overlays aligned with the corresponding map palette. Optional changes include festival decor and recolors for fences, the shipping bin, mailbox, and fish pond.
That range makes it a good fit if you want to adjust the farm’s look rather than simply apply one fixed building replacement. The palette options are not a promise that every style works with every map recolor: choose a corresponding palette and consult the mod’s current compatibility notes before combining it with another visual overhaul.

Setup
The mod page specifies the latest SMAPI and Content Patcher. Its documented setup is:
- Install the current SMAPI and Content Patcher versions required by the live mod page.
- Extract the mod folder into the game’s Mods folder.
- Run the game once with SMAPI so the mod can generate its configuration file.
- Choose the options you want in that configuration, then launch the game through SMAPI.
For villagers’ seasonal looks: Diverse Stardew Valley – Seasonal Outfits
This mod focuses on character appearance, not world recoloring or a building overhaul. Its page describes modded and vanilla character variants, clothing suited to weather and seasons, festival and wedding outfits, and some location-specific or story-based wardrobe changes. Choose it if the visual detail you care about is whether villagers look dressed for the occasion.
SMAPI is required, and the mod page lists additional required mods. Dependencies can change, so inspect the live requirements list and files before installing rather than relying on an old setup guide.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →For a restrained seasonal treatment: Elle’s Seasonal Vanilla Buildings
This option adds toggles for overlays and individual farm buildings, along with seasonal changes in town such as snow on building roofs in winter. It is aimed at vanilla maps. The page explicitly notes that it does not currently include dependencies to make it compatible with map recolors, so do not assume it will work as a universal add-on for a recolor-heavy setup.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Where Stardew Valley Expanded fits
Stardew Valley Expanded is a content expansion, not a graphics-only mod. Its changelog includes visual and seasonal changes, but those are part of a broader expansion rather than a focused graphics replacement. If you are already considering the expansion for its added content, review its current requirements and files; historical changelog notes, including a past note about Stardew Valley 1.6 compatibility, do not certify compatibility for your present setup.

Check requirements and compatibility before installing
Mod versions, dependencies, download availability, and compatibility can change. Before you download, review each mod page’s current files, requirements, and update notes. In particular, confirm the exact game version and platform, plus whether the mod supports your existing map recolors or expansions. The cited pages do not provide a complete compatibility matrix for every combination.
- Match the mod to the visual layer you want to change: buildings, character outfits, or a broader content expansion.
- Check the live page for required frameworks such as SMAPI and Content Patcher, plus any additional dependencies.
- Read compatibility notes for your map recolor and other visual or content mods instead of assuming that two individually available mods will work together.
If you use a manager, the Nexus Mods app’s Stardew Valley documentation describes a SMAPI installer and a check that compares installed SMAPI and game versions for compatibility. The app is optional; it is not a requirement for these mods.
