“Deleting Roblox” can mean three different things: uninstalling the app, deactivating your account, or requesting permanent account and data deletion. Uninstalling is reversible and does not remove your account or account-linked progress. Deactivation hides and disables the account but can be reversed. A completed deletion request should be treated as permanent and may end access to Robux, items, progress, and other account-linked content.
Choose the right action first

If your goal is to free storage or fix an installation, uninstall the app. If you want a temporary break, deactivate the account. Use a privacy deletion request only when removing your Roblox account and personal data is genuinely what you want.

What happens when you uninstall Roblox?
Uninstalling removes Roblox or Roblox Studio from the device. It does not delete your Roblox account, profile, friends, Robux, inventory, or account-linked progress. Those remain associated with the account you used, so you can reinstall Roblox and sign in again later.
Uninstalling can help with installation problems or corrupted local files. Roblox’s official uninstall instructions cover Windows and Mac; mobile and console menus vary by operating system. On Windows, persistent problems may require removing the local Roblox folder. On Mac, Roblox and Roblox Studio can be closed and moved to the Trash.

Do not treat uninstalling as a backup for every Roblox-related file. Before removing Roblox Studio, save locally stored projects and check screenshots, recordings, cached files, and other files outside the account. Roblox specifically cautions that Studio places saved outside the local Roblox folder should not be removed when that folder is deleted. See Roblox’s uninstall instructions.
What happens when you deactivate your account?
Deactivation is the “take a break” option. Roblox says it disables the account and hides the profile. Some information may still be visible, including items listed in the Roblox Marketplace. Deactivation is not the same as deleting your personal data.
The current route is:
- Open Roblox privacy settings.
- Choose Account Deactivation and Deletion.
- Select Deactivate.
A deactivated account can be reactivated by logging in at Roblox.com. That makes deactivation more suitable than deletion if you want to preserve the possibility of returning.

To limit a child’s access, deletion may not be necessary. Roblox parental controls can help manage screen time, content maturity, spending limits, privacy, and allowed or blocked experiences. Review the official parental-controls guidance before shutting down a child’s account.

What happens when you request permanent deletion?
Roblox handles account and data deletion through Support rather than through a simple app-uninstall button. The current process is:
- Open the Roblox Support form.
- Choose the relevant privacy or data-request category.
- Select Right To Be Forgotten.
- Submit the request.
- Complete identity verification if Roblox requests it.
- Keep the confirmation and any support correspondence.
Roblox says it initiates permanent deletion of data in its systems, but that statement has important qualifications. Its privacy policy allows persistent identifiers to be retained for up to two years for safety and security purposes, such as preventing abuse or bots. Information may be retained longer when required for legal or regulatory compliance, billing matters, disputes, or related inquiries. Deletion should therefore not be understood as every record disappearing instantly from every system.
There is no universal processing period established in the cited Roblox guidance. Do not submit the request until you have handled anything you may need from the account.

After uninstalling
Uninstalling does not remove account-linked Robux, friends, inventory, or progress. Reinstall the app and sign in to the same account. Be careful not to accidentally create or use a different account.

After deletion
Once account deletion is completed, you should assume you may permanently lose access to the account and its virtual content. Roblox’s Terms of Use state that Robux and virtual content do not create enforceable property rights, and virtual-content transfers are generally final, non-refundable, and non-reversible.
Roblox does not provide a general Robux refund merely because you delete an item, dislike it, or delete your account. Its guidance on Robux refunds and Terms of Use should be read before making an irreversible decision.
Roblox’s deletion guidance does not provide an item-by-item outcome for user-created experiences, groups, group roles, Marketplace listings, private servers, experience subscriptions, developer earnings, pending payouts, messages, comments, moderation records, or linked parent accounts. Do not assume that these assets will be transferred, preserved, or erased in a particular way. If one of them matters, ask Roblox Support before requesting deletion.

Uninstalling Roblox does not reliably stop recurring charges, and deleting an account should not be treated as a substitute for cancellation. Subscriptions can be managed through Roblox or through a platform such as Apple, Google Play, Microsoft, Xbox, PlayStation, Meta Quest, Amazon, or Samsung.

For a subscription managed on Roblox, the current path is:
- Log in.
- Open Settings.
- Choose Subscriptions.
- Select the subscription.
- Choose Cancel Renewal.
- Complete the confirmation prompts.
Roblox’s in-experience subscription guidance says to cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Cancellation generally prevents the next renewal while allowing already-paid benefits to continue through the paid period; it is not automatically a refund. If Apple or Google Play manages the subscription, cancel it in that store’s subscription settings as well. Keep the cancellation confirmation.
As of Roblox support information checked August 18, 2026, Roblox Plus became globally available on April 30, 2026, while Premium was no longer available for new purchase from that date. Existing Premium subscribers may retain their subscription, but canceling may remove the ability to resubscribe. Because subscription products and labels can change, check the current Roblox Plus and Premium support pages before acting.
Complete this checklist before deletion
- Confirm the exact username and account you intend to remove.
- Verify access to the account email address or recovery method.
- Resolve account-recovery problems before submitting a deletion request.
- Check Roblox, Apple, Google Play, and any other relevant subscription pages.
- Cancel recurring subscriptions before the next renewal date.
- Save receipts needed for unresolved billing disputes or unauthorized-charge claims.
- Save Roblox Studio projects and other locally stored files.
- Review group, creator, developer, payout, private-server, and subscription responsibilities.
- Tell a linked parent or guardian, especially for a child’s account.
- Ask Support about any creator assets or financial issue that must be preserved.
- Keep deletion, cancellation, and support confirmations.
Common problems and the safest response
You uninstalled Roblox but were still charged
Check Settings → Subscriptions in Roblox and the subscription page for the payment platform that processed the charge. App removal does not prove that recurring billing stopped.

You are unsure which account is logged in
Stop before requesting deletion. Confirm the username and account details first. Account-linked progress, Robux, friends, and inventory belong to the account—not the device installation.
You cannot log in
Resolve account recovery before deletion if you need receipts, group access, creator assets, or subscription controls. When contacting Support, provide the username, device, purchase platform, dates, amounts, and relevant error messages where applicable.
The account belongs to a child
Involve the parent or guardian in the decision. Parental controls may solve a screen-time, spending, privacy, or content problem without deleting the account.

You want a refund
Deleting an item or account does not create a general Robux refund right. For unauthorized charges, use Roblox’s separate unauthorized-charge process and, where appropriate, contact the payment provider before deleting the account.
