The Crew 2 has a working offline option. Ubisoft’s Hybrid Mode became available on October 16, 2025, letting players choose offline solo play, and the game starts offline on its own when it detects no internet connection. The Crew Motorfest is different. Ubisoft has promised an offline mode for it, but the official updates reviewed for this article neither confirm that the mode has launched nor give a date.
What Ubisoft promised in September 2024
On September 11, 2024, Ubisoft published a “Commitment to The Crew Franchise” announcement on the games’ Steam announcements page. It acknowledged player concerns about access to The Crew games and said the company was exploring future solutions. The statement reads: “We are actively exploring different solutions for the future, which will include an offline mode.” It names The Crew 2 and The Crew Motorfest as the games those solutions would cover.

The post does not single out a particular group of players or a particular event as the cause of the concerns. It is accurate to describe the offline work as a response to player backlash, but not to tie it to one incident.
Does The Crew 2 have an offline mode?
Yes. The Crew 2’s Hybrid Mode is the offline option Ubisoft promised in 2024, and it is the only one of the two games with a released offline mode in the official material reviewed here. The launch announcement is also on the Steam announcements page.

How the Hybrid Mode starts
- A connected player can choose online or offline play when launching the game.
- If the game detects no internet connection, it starts in offline mode automatically.
- Offline play is solo. Ubisoft describes it as continued single-player access, not a full version of the online game.
What is unavailable offline
Ubisoft lists the following as unavailable in offline mode:
- Multiplayer content
- LIVE Summits
- Certain storefront purchases and shop functions
- User-created content tools
- Some online-dependent hobbies and achievements
If a feature in your routine depends on one of these, assume it will not work offline until you confirm otherwise in Ubisoft’s own feature notes.

How offline saves work
Ubisoft keeps online and offline saves separate. Players can export an online save to an offline save. The official text describing this does not establish whether an export overwrites an existing offline save, so read the full save section of the announcement before moving progress you care about.
Is The Crew Motorfest getting an offline mode?
Ubisoft has committed to one, but the official material reviewed does not show that it has shipped or name a date. The later Motorfest updates describe continued content, which is not the same as confirming the offline feature.

What Ubisoft has published since the promise
- September 2025 showcase. Ubisoft’s “What You Can’t Miss from The Crew Showcase 2025” laid out the game’s upcoming schedule, including Motorfest Seasons 8 to 10 running through July 2026. It establishes a content plan, not the status of the offline promise.
- July 1, 2026, Season 10. Ubisoft’s Season 10 update covers new game content and platforms. It does not report an offline-mode launch.

What would change this picture for Motorfest
An offline Motorfest would need to be confirmed through Ubisoft’s official channels. These are the signals that would matter:
