What to do first
- Finish the introduction. It opens the game’s core activities and is a prerequisite for accessing multiplayer modes, according to Ubisoft Help. Console online play may also depend on the platform’s subscription rules.
- Unlock a Playlist and play its events. Playlists are themed campaigns that introduce different kinds of driving and car culture. Some events lend you a vehicle, so you can try an activity without first owning the featured car. Ubisoft’s starting guide also says completed Playlist events can be customized for replay.
- Alternate structured events with exploration. Free-roam challenges and discoveries contribute to progression, so you do not need to spend every session in races.
- Check the garage as rewards arrive. New vehicles and parts can change what you can drive and how you tune it. Ubisoft recommends using Fast Fav to swap vehicles quickly while driving.
- Look at the live in-game menus for current rewards. Seasonal content and Main Stage rewards change. The exact reward mix available to you depends on the current season and your unlocked activities.
How Playlists fit into progression
A Playlist is a useful starting point because it groups events around a theme and gives you a clear next activity. Some events supply a loaned car; others let you bring a vehicle from your garage. The themed structure helps you sample different driving styles without treating the open world as a checklist you must finish before progressing.

Ubisoft’s official game page advertises more than 25 Playlists, but the catalog changes as seasons add content. On October 7, 2026, Ubisoft’s Season 11 patch notes announced Kaua‘i Expeditions and Tomb Raider: Secrets of Ni‘ihau. The Tomb Raider Playlist requires Year Pass 4 or standalone DLC; it is not a free-access assumption for every player.

The 2023 explainer says the three main tracks reset monthly. At a reset, ranks earned on those tracks convert into Motorfest Levels and grant Legend Points. Because current-season particulars may differ, check the in-game Main Stage display before planning around a specific reset reward.
Ways to earn Bucks without chasing an unverified “best farm”
Bucks come from activities and rewards across the game, including free-roam feats and challenges, progression, and some competitive modes. Ubisoft’s current support information lists Bucks among rewards in several live modes, but the official material available here does not provide a comparable payout table or a verified Bucks-per-minute ranking. A claim that one activity is always the fastest way to earn therefore is not established.

- Follow the rewards shown for available activities. Check the event or mode information in-game rather than assuming an older payout still applies.
- Use Explore activities when you want a break from races. Ubisoft names drifting, near misses, Speedtraps, Escapes, Slaloms, Photo Quests, and Treasure Hunts among the activities associated with Explore progression.
- Play with friends if convenient. Ubisoft’s September 2023 starting guide says friends earn bonus Crew Bucks for each event they complete together. This is a descriptive reward statement, not a measured comparison proving it beats other methods.
- Choose activities you can complete consistently. With no current comparable earnings data, enjoyment and completion are more dependable criteria than an unsupported “best farm” ranking.
When multiplayer and Main Stage become available
Ubisoft Help says multiplayer modes become available after you finish the introduction and unlock at least one Playlist. The same support result lists Main Stage access after three Playlists. Console multiplayer may require an active online subscription, depending on the platform. Check the current support details for your platform before troubleshooting a missing online option.

Season and platform details to check
Live content can change the available routes through the game. Ubisoft’s Season 11 notes, dated October 7, 2026, announced the Kaua‘i Expeditions and Tomb Raider: Secrets of Ni‘ihau Playlists; access to the latter requires Year Pass 4 or standalone DLC. Those notes also announced a Nintendo Switch 2 release for October 8, 2026. Because that date is after the notes’ publication date, treat it as an announced release date rather than proof of availability on October 7. Check Ubisoft’s current game page or platform store for current availability.
