SONIC PICO PARK launches on PS5 on November 12, 2026, and its revealed trophy list contains 20 awards but no Platinum. This is not a traditional solo Sonic adventure: it is a 2D cooperative action-puzzle game in which two to eight players coordinate movement to reach each stage’s goal. You can play locally or online, with cross-play supported online; PlayStation online multiplayer requires PS Plus.
SEGA says the download version launches first. A PS5 disc edition and launch price have not been confirmed, so anyone planning a purchase should treat the digital release as the currently established format.

The PS5 release date is November 12, 2026. The US PlayStation Store listing expresses the release moment as November 11, 2026 at 3:00 PM UTC, while regional storefronts show November 12. That difference reflects storefront time-zone presentation rather than separate launch days.
The game is also listed for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows and Steam. SEGA’s October product overview says the download version launches first; the checked announcements do not confirm a PS5 disc edition or a launch price.

What kind of Sonic game is it?
SONIC PICO PARK is a 2D cooperative action-puzzle game built around coordinated movement. The shared objective is to reach the goal plate on the right side of each stage, so progress depends on players helping one another rather than simply racing ahead.
The Sonic crossover adds familiar movement ideas, including Spin Dash, rings, loops and springs, to TECOPARK’s PICO PARK-style teamwork. The official description calls it “a 2D action puzzle game where cooperation is essential!”

How the cooperation works
The tutorial shown by PlayStation Blog uses Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy across eight stages. Players can stack on one another to clear walls, use Tails to carry teammates across gaps and launch themselves from springs while avoiding hazards. Those examples explain the game’s central rhythm: positioning one character correctly often creates the route for everyone else.

No official explanation has been published for the missing Platinum. It is therefore safest to treat the list as a deliberate structure for a short-form social puzzle game, not as evidence of a hidden requirement or an announced post-launch change.
Is SONIC PICO PARK mainly for playing with friends?
Yes. The design puts group coordination at the center of every stage. Characters may need to form a stack, carry another player over a gap or trigger a spring sequence in the correct order before the group can reach the goal.
That makes the game a better fit for a couch session, a family game night or an online group than for someone looking for a long, solo Sonic campaign. The endless-scroller score trophies also give a coordinated group an additional target after clearing Worlds.
