Other potential crew members
Gameplay footage also shows additional potential companions planned for later parts of the game. Their presence in the trailer confirms a broader recruitment arc, but the available announcement does not provide a complete list, individual biographies or final recruitment conditions. It would therefore be misleading to treat the beta’s mission as a full preview of every crew member.

Is it connected to the television show and books?
Osiris Reborn is officially set in The Expanse universe, so it uses the franchise’s science-fiction setting rather than presenting an unrelated original space opera. The supplied announcements do not establish that the game adapts a particular television episode, retells the novels or uses the actors’ performances. They also do not specify a precise place in the book or television chronology. Until Owlcat or the rights holders publish that information, the safest description is a new story in the broader franchise universe.

You do not need to have watched the series or read the novels to understand the game’s basic premise. Familiarity may provide extra context for the setting, but the announced campaign centers on a new captain, a new crew and an original crisis beginning on Eros.
