Saros: Zenith launched on October 19, 2026, as a free update for everyone who owns Saros. It makes Housemarque’s PS5 bullet-ballet easier to approach without removing its projectile patterns, then gives experienced players a substantial New Game+ loop, collectible story material and score-attack challenges. New controls include adjustable Slow Game Speed, Auto-fire, Motion Sensor Aiming and button remapping. Veterans can unlock Eclipse Layers, combine Carcosan Modifiers, pursue 12 Visions and compete in the Overlord Rush leaderboards.
What does the Zenith update add to Saros?
Zenith is designed around two audiences: players who have finished Carcosa and want a reason to return, and newcomers who find the game’s dense attacks difficult to read while controlling movement, aiming and defensive abilities. The update changes the timing and control burden without turning combat into a pattern-free mode.

Is the Saros: Zenith update free?

How do Slow Game Speed and Auto-fire work?
Slow Game Speed gives you more time to read an attack telegraph and decide whether to jump, dash, shield or parry. You choose the amount of slowdown and can have it activate automatically during combat or trigger it manually. Hostile projectiles remain on screen, so the setting changes reaction time rather than deleting attack patterns.

Auto-fire reduces button holding, not reload timing
With Auto-fire enabled, your weapon fires automatically while you aim at a hostile. You no longer need to hold the firing button continuously, leaving more attention for movement and timed dashes. Reloading remains manual, and a perfect reload still depends on a well-timed button press.

Motion controls and remapping add alternatives
Zenith adds Motion Sensor Aiming, while SAROS continues to offer button remapping. The game’s official DualSense feature set includes motion support, haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, giving players several ways to tailor aiming and input.
How do I unlock Eclipse Layers?
Eclipse Layers are Saros’s New Game+ mode and become available after you clear the main game. At Passage, new nodes appear in the Armor Matrix; those nodes unlock the next, more intense layer.
- Complete Saros.
- Return to Passage and inspect the newly available Armor Matrix nodes.
- Select an Eclipse Layer to view its requirements.
- Choose a Carcosan Modifier loadout and meet the required modifier threshold before starting.
The system offers 25 Trials to choose from. Each layer changes the rules through combinations of modifiers, so success depends on planning a loadout rather than simply surviving enemies with larger health bars.

What do the new modifiers change?
Zenith adds 10 Protection Modifiers for more forgiving runs and 10 Trial Modifiers for extra difficulty. “Corruption Melee Enhancement,” for example, turns accumulated Corruption into additional melee damage. “Hostile Regeneration” makes a stunned large hostile recover unless you finish it with a melee strike. These effects alter when you attack, spend resources or commit to close-range actions.
What are Crown progression and Visions?
During Eclipse Layers, Arjun’s Crown and golden armor become more elaborate as your Trials and Modifier Balance increase. Crown progression also reveals 12 collectible Visions: murals and messages attributed to an ancient king. They provide additional story material while giving repeated runs a discovery goal beyond completion time.
What is Overlord Rush?
Overlord Rush is a separate training simulation accessed through the Primary Unit in Passage. It focuses on defeating the game’s main Overlords quickly, then comparing results on integrated leaderboards. Leaderboards can be filtered by Main Weapon, allowing weapon-specific competition rather than one undifferentiated ranking.

Incursion and Ascension are compact sessions built around a ten-minute target. Totality links every Overlord into one continuous challenge, making it the endurance option for players who want a complete score run.
Who benefits most from Zenith?
New players get adjustable pacing and aiming assistance while retaining the combat’s defining patterns and manual reload decisions. Returning players get layered difficulty, build choices, story collectibles and a dedicated leaderboard mode. SAROS is listed as a PS5-exclusive, single-player game. Zenith is therefore an update for that PS5 version rather than a release across multiple console platforms. Can I play Zenith without an internet connection?
The published product information identifies SAROS as a single-player game, but it does not specify whether every Zenith feature works offline. Check the current PlayStation system and product notices for any connection requirement attached to updates or leaderboard submission.
Do Eclipse Layer modifiers permanently change my normal campaign?
