How do I start The Shewolf Snared?
The French community wiki says The Torment Stag must be completed first. If the Fable is unavailable, check the current Journal for its prerequisite. A separate community walkthrough reports this opening sequence:
- Find the red balloon marker in the overworld.
- Clear the nearby enemies and open the chest beneath the marker.
- Read the note to trigger the opening scene.

Where do I find Orengall?
After the opening scene, use the bird familiar, also called the Spirit Guide, to locate Orengall. The reported route has you defeat her captors and free her. If no new objective appears afterward, the French community wiki advises continuing open-world activities and watching for Orengall’s howl and tracks; this is reported guidance, not a guaranteed trigger condition.

Follow the tracks or guidance to another Sinecure group, defeat the enemies, then speak with Orengall when she appears. Community guides say the dialogue choice at this point affects a Virtue bonus, but they do not establish a reliable current mapping between each option and its bonus. Choose according to your preference rather than relying on an unverified option guide.
How do I free Orengall’s pups?
The reported rescue route continues into the Dermak dungeon in the Mines of Praiterie. The French community wiki says an enemy drops a cage key; use it to free the captive pup or pups, then follow the next objective to an outdoor camp for the remaining rescue. If your encounter differs, follow the active Journal objective.

For the final reported stage, follow Orengall and the guidance to the last camp, defeat the Ode’n Bisulcam, then speak with Orengall. The community wiki lists the rescued-pup choices as Ciar, Cathal, and Cuan. The exact encounter sequence is community-reported and may not match every current build.
Which wolf pup should I choose?
The available sources do not establish that Ciar, Cathal, or Cuan is objectively best, or that choosing a particular name determines a distinct set of abilities. The official Preludes 16 update says: “Your puppy chosen during The Shewolf Snared will now accompany you while you adventure, and what you choose to do with your pup will affect how they grow!”

The update describes feeding and playing with the pup in the Nightfold and summoning it in Midrath. Activities such as fetch, treasure hunting, petting, and combat help develop related capabilities. It describes combat-focused activity as shaping the pup toward a guardian role, while curiosity and treasure-focused activity helps it find resources and hidden loot. That points to how you spend time with your pup—not a proven ranking of the three choices—as the relevant factor for its later development.
Is the chosen pup rideable?
At TennoCon 2026, Soulframe’s official recap said players would be able to ride an Omen Beast in 2026 after building trust, including the wolf chosen in The Shewolf Snared. What to do if the Journal or quest differs
Soulframe’s patch-note archive records fixes related to this Fable, including placeholder Journal text, dialogue and cutscene issues, pup rescue, and the final encounter. Those past fixes do not show that a particular issue is currently happening, but they make the active Journal especially useful when a community guide no longer matches your game.
