What’s included in the bundle?
EA’s product page lists two collections in the bundle:

- The Sims: Legacy Collection: The Sims, plus Livin’ Large, House Party, Hot Date, Vacation, Unleashed, Superstar, and Makin’ Magic.
- The Sims 2: Legacy Collection: The Sims 2, plus University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Bon Voyage, Seasons, FreeTime, Apartment Life, Holiday Party Pack, Family Fun Stuff, Glamour Life Stuff, Happy Holiday Stuff, Celebration! EA’s 25th-anniversary announcement also says The Sims 4: Throwback Fit Kit and The Sims 4: Grunge Revival Kit come alongside the collections. Those two kits are not included in the classic-game pack lists on the product page, so treat them as separate anniversary entitlements.
Will the bundle run on your PC?
EA Help publishes these minimum requirements for The Sims: Legacy Edition. EA separately describes the re-releases as supporting Windows 10 and Windows 11. Steam lists the same processor, memory, and graphics families, but its listing asks for 17 GB of storage rather than EA’s 16 GB.

Because the storefront figures differ, leave at least 17 GB free and check the live requirements on the store where you plan to install. These are published minimum specifications, not a performance guarantee for every PC.
How to get and install the collections
EA lists the EA app, Steam, and Epic Games Store as PC storefronts. The exact account process depends on where you buy:
- EA app or Epic Games Store: EA says an EA Account, internet connection, EA app installation, and product-code registration are required.
- Steam: Steam says its version requires both Steam and EA accounts linked together.
Before checkout, confirm the current price and currency, account requirements, refund terms, and storage figure on your chosen store. EA announced a $39.99 suggested retail price at launch in 2025; that is historical launch pricing, not a promise of today’s price. Prices and discounts can vary by region and date.

Switch from full-screen to windowed mode
The Sims opens full-screen on the primary monitor. Press Alt+Enter to switch to windowed mode. Pressing the shortcut again changes the scale; EA notes that the final windowed size may clip part of the display.

Move an older save into the new folder
EA says an uncorrupted original Sims 1 save can work with the relaunched version, but the save location has changed. Back up your existing folder before copying anything. EA’s instructions are to rename the old save folder The Sims 25 and copy it into Saved Games/Electronic Arts. A corrupted save may lead to missing content, malfunction, or crashes.
Know what changed in the relaunch
EA describes The Sims as rebuilt for modern computers and operating systems while retaining the original gameplay and graphics character. Listed updates include Windows 10/11 operation, Vulkan graphics, widescreen support, and higher-quality textures on buildings and objects.
What to know about mods
Mods are community-maintained rather than supported by Maxis. EA says Maxis has not tested or supported The Sims 1 mods, and each mod creator is responsible for checking compatibility with the relaunched version. Confirm compatibility with the creator before using a mod.
Where to check current availability and price
EA announced the bundle’s global rollout beginning January 31, 2025, on the EA app, Epic Games Store, and Steam for Windows 10/11. The $39.99 figure was the suggested launch price. For the price in your region and the current storefront terms, check the store page you intend to use; availability, discounts, and listing details can change.
