If The Sims 4: Growing Together is missing or will not download in the EA app, first check Library > The Sims 4 > Manage add-ons. If the pack is not listed, verify the purchase, account, code redemption, and base-game ownership before trying to reinstall. For a stuck download, clear the EA app cache; for a game that will not launch, use the app’s Repair option.
Growing Together missing from the EA app
Expansion packs are managed under the base game, so Growing Together may not appear as a separate full-game tile in your Library. EA’s instructions for the EA app on PC and Mac are:
- Sign in to the EA app.
- Open Library and hover over the The Sims 4 tile.
- Select the three-dot menu, then choose Manage add-ons.
- Look for Growing Together in the add-ons list.

If the expansion is not listed
Check that the pack is attached to the EA account you are using before troubleshooting its files:

- In your EA Account, open Payment and Wallet > Order history and check whether the order is still processing.
- If there is no order, consider whether you bought the pack using a different EA account.
- If you bought it from a retailer, confirm that the product code was redeemed to the right account.
- Make sure you own the full base game. EA says Sims expansions become active only when the base game is owned; expansions do not appear as independent full games in the main Library.

Growing Together not downloading or stuck
Clear the EA app cache
For a failed download, one stuck at a percentage, a “Waiting for download” message, or a game that seems to have vanished from the Library, clear the app cache. In the EA app, go to Help > App Recovery > Clear Cache. If the app will not open on Windows, use Start > All Apps > EA > App Recovery > Clear Cache. On macOS, open the app’s Help menu and choose App Recovery.

EA notes that clearing the cache can help with common app problems but cannot fix an outage or server downtime. Check EA server status and your connection if downloads remain unavailable. Follow EA’s cache-clearing instructions.
If the download stops at exactly 4 GB on PC
A download stalled at precisely 4 GB can indicate that the destination drive uses FAT32, a format that cannot handle files larger than 4 GB. This is a targeted explanation for that specific symptom, not a general cause of every stalled download. EA describes the issue in its download and installation troubleshooting.

If installation reports “Create Folder Error”
EA identifies this message during installation, updating, or repair as a permissions issue. On Windows, EA advises checking that the SYSTEM account has full control of the game folder; its PC guidance also includes running the EA app as administrator. Repair the game files
If the base game will not load, open Library, select the three-dot menu on the game tile, and choose Repair. Wait for the process to finish, then try launching again. This checks the game files; it is different from confirming that the expansion is owned and listed under Manage add-ons. EA’s app troubleshooting guide includes the Repair path.
If the app is stuck on “preparing game”
EA’s suggested troubleshooting for this state includes clearing the app cache, closing background apps, checking Windows and graphics-card updates and drivers, and trying a clean boot. These steps apply to the EA app and PC environment; they do not establish that the expansion itself is the cause.
Check Mods after a game update
If The Sims 4 starts but began behaving badly after an update, test it with Mods disabled. EA says updates can make previously working Mods incompatible and does not pre-screen, endorse, or support specific Mods or Custom Content. Check with each creator for compatibility before re-enabling Mods. EA also advises downloading Mods only from trusted sources or creators. See its guidance on Mods and game updates.
