To find the Kanzashi in Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ “The Stray Dogs,” travel to the Church of Takatsuki in northern Izumi Settsu. Enter the large white building on the church’s east side and speak with Tetsuo. Follow him when he runs; Yaya will stop him and start the final conversation. If you want Yaya as an ally, choose the forgiveness-oriented dialogue options and finish with “Let’s work together.”
How to start “The Stray Dogs”
Check Yaya’s quest entry on the Objectives Board under The League. Guides list different prerequisites: Gamer Guides says the quest appears after “Heads Will Roll,” while PowerPyx lists “Wolves and Foxes” and “Before the Fall.” Since those accounts do not establish one universal requirement, use the in-game board to see whether the quest is available in your progression.
Find Yaya in Osaka
- Travel to Osaka in Izumi Settsu and look for Yaya near the Temple of Osaka. Gamer Guides describes a side street by the temple; GamesRadar+ places the encounter south-southwest of Osaka Castle.
- Help Yaya defeat the Shrine Raiders.
- When the encounter ends, speak with her and follow her to receive the clue that leads to Tetsuo.
Where to find Tetsuo and the Kanzashi
Go to the Church of Takatsuki in northern Izumi Settsu. The useful landmark is the large white building on the east side of the church grounds. Enter it and speak with Tetsuo inside; this advances the Kanzashi objective and triggers the next part of the quest.
Follow Tetsuo and finish the quest
Tetsuo runs after you speak with him. Follow him out of the area. Yaya catches up with him and begins the concluding scene, where your dialogue choices determine whether you invite her to join you.

Safest dialogue route for recruiting Yaya
For the cautious route, favor forgiveness during the earlier conversations, then choose “You need to forgive each other” and select “Let’s work together” when the recruitment invitation appears. The final invitation is the clearest decision point: choosing “I wish you well” declines Yaya as an ally for this quest.
Walkthroughs differ on how much the earlier choices matter. Gamer Guides and GamesRadar+ recommend forgiveness-oriented choices, while PowerPyx says the initial “We forgive him” versus “We punish him” choice does not change the outcome. Because the accounts conflict, forgiveness throughout is the conservative recommendation rather than a guaranteed requirement.

Gamer Guides and PowerPyx report a completion reward of 1,000 XP/EXP. Gamer Guides also reports that Yaya can join as an ally if you take the recruitment route.
