Steam’s 2025 Winter Sale has ended, so these are historical deals—not prices available now. In the sale running December 18, 2025, through January 5, 2026, PC Gamer reported five standouts at US prices from $2.49 to $29.99. The next Winter Sale is scheduled for December 17, 2026, through January 4, 2027; its game offers are not yet established.
The five best deep discounts reported in Steam’s 2025 Winter Sale
These picks balance discount size, final price and the roundup’s editorial judgments; “best” is a recommendation, not an objective ranking. Prices and discount percentages are the US-dollar figures reported by PC Gamer for the 2025 sale. Steam prices vary by region, and local taxes may affect checkout totals.

| Game | Reported sale price | Discount | Why it stood out |
|---|---|---|---|
| Slay the Spire | $2.49 | 90% off | The lowest cash outlay among these picks; PC Gamer included it among the sale’s lowest-price offers. |
| Hogwarts Legacy | $5.99 | 90% off | A high-profile game for less than $10 in the reported sale; also in PC Gamer’s lowest-price section. |
| The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt | $7.99 | 80% off | A substantial cut on a well-known RPG. PC Gamer said it is discounted often and generally reaches this low price. The Complete Edition was reported at $9.99, also 80% off, and includes both expansions. |
| Resident Evil 4 Remake | $15.99 | 60% off | PC Gamer identified it as a lowest-price deal at the time of the sale. |
| Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 | $29.99 | 50% off | The most expensive pick and smallest percentage discount here, but PC Gamer described it as a lowest-price deal at the time and named it its 2025 Game of the Year. |

How to read the discounts
Slay the Spire and Hogwarts Legacy had the steepest cuts at 90%; The Witcher 3 followed at 80%, Resident Evil 4 Remake at 60%, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 at 50%. The cheapest reported offer was Slay the Spire at $2.49, while Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 had the highest listed price at $29.99. A large percentage does not automatically make a game the right buy: compare the final price, the edition you want and whether you are interested in the game itself.

When the next Steam Winter Sale is scheduled
Valve’s Steamworks schedule lists the 2026 Winter Sale for December 17, 2026, through January 4, 2027. That schedule confirms the event dates, not which games will be discounted or at what prices. The five offers above should not be treated as predictions for the next sale.
Valve’s announcement for the 2025 sale said, “No matter what kind of gamer you are, no matter what kind of games you love; you’ll find them on sale, with discounts by the thousands.” That is promotional language about the sale, not a count of independently verified offers or a promise about any particular game. Steamworks says seasonal sales take place four times a year and are open to released games. Its guidance generally bars a product from being discounted within 30 days of release or a price increase; discounts of 20% or more automatically trigger email notifications to players who have the game on their wishlist.
