Eyes Never Wake is an upcoming indie horror game built around an unusual idea: the monster can see you through your webcam, so hiding may mean moving your face out of the camera’s view. The game is still in development, and its advertised mechanics may change before release.
How does hiding from the monster in real life work?
In Eyes Never Wake, the webcam is part of the advertised stealth mechanic. The game’s Steam page says the monster can see the player through the camera; to hide, players can duck below a desk or otherwise move out of view. The official website describes the same premise. The exact behavior and timing of encounters have not been established in the current listing, so the desk example should not be taken to mean every hiding sequence requires that action.
The game also advertises stealth and chase sequences, microphone interaction, and exploration of an out-of-bounds area inside a strange game. These are features described for a work in progress, not verified accounts of finished gameplay.
What is Eyes Never Wake?
Eyes Never Wake is an adventure and indie horror game developed and published by Allan Hedlund. Its webcam-based premise makes the player’s real-world visibility part of hiding in the game, rather than relying only on an in-game character finding cover.

Does it require a webcam, and what about privacy?
The webcam mechanic is central to the game’s advertised hook, but the Steam listing does not say whether a built-in camera is sufficient or whether an external webcam is required. If your PC lacks a usable camera, an external one may be an option, but the listing does not establish that you must buy one.
The developer says webcam processing happens locally and that no images, videos, or data are collected or sent elsewhere. The listing also says the webcam mechanic can be turned off in settings. Those are the developer’s stated privacy and settings claims, not an independent technical audit.
