Three Xbox Series X|S configurations launched in Canada on October 15, 2024: a 1TB Robot White Series S, a 1TB all-digital Robot White Series X, and a 2TB Galaxy Black Series X Special Edition. Their reported Canadian launch prices were C$449, C$599, and C$799, respectively. Those are historical prices, not current offers.
What launched in Canada
Microsoft’s 2024 lineup added one Series S option and two Series X options. The models were new configurations of the existing console families, not a new Xbox generation. Best Buy Canada had also outlined the three planned models in June 2024, with an end-of-year release window.
| Model | Storage and format | Finish | Reported Canadian launch price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Xbox Series S – 1TB | 1TB; all-digital | Robot White | C$449 (historical launch price reported in 2024 by MobileSyrup) |
| Xbox Series X – 1TB Digital Edition | 1TB; digital-only, no physical media | Robot White | C$599 (historical launch price reported in 2024 by MobileSyrup) |
| Xbox Series X – 2TB Galaxy Black Special Edition | 2TB; Series X configuration | Galaxy Black | C$799 (historical launch price reported in 2024 by MobileSyrup) |
How the models differ
Series S: more built-in storage
The 1TB Robot White Series S doubled the 512GB storage capacity of the standard all-digital Series S described in the launch coverage. It remains a digital console configuration.
Series X: choose between digital and 2TB
The white 1TB Series X Digital Edition is digital-only and cannot play physical media. The Galaxy Black Special Edition offers 2TB of storage. MobileSyrup described it as a regular Series X configuration with double the storage and a Galaxy Black design.

Release date and what “in October” means
MobileSyrup reported on August 21, 2024 that the Canadian launch date was October 15, 2024. A contemporaneous report by The Fly, republished by TipRanks, attributed this statement to Roanne Sones, head of Xbox Devices: “I’m excited to share that the three new Xbox Series X S console options, announced earlier this year at the Xbox Games Showcase 2024, will release on October 15, with select countries following on October 29.” The reproduced quote spells the family name “Xbox Series X S.” TipRanks’ report is the attribution for the statement.
