THRONE AND LIBERTY uses gate servers as part of the connection path between login services and the game world, so the error can come from Amazon Games’ infrastructure, maintenance, a full region, your network, corrupted files, Easy Anti-Cheat, or security software.
Check the official server-status page and Known Issues page first. If they show maintenance, a full server, or a reported incident, waiting is the correct fix. If the service is operating normally, work through the nine fixes below, starting with a full restart and ending with official support.

What “Gate Server Disconnected” means
A gate server is part of THRONE AND LIBERTY’s login and world-connection infrastructure. The error may appear before character selection, while entering a world, or during the transition from the login service to a world server.
Possible causes include Amazon Games server instability, maintenance or capacity limits; an interrupted home connection; router or ISP filtering; firewall, antivirus, VPN, or overlay interference; damaged game files; or Easy Anti-Cheat failing to initialize or communicate.

Amazon Games previously attributed widespread gate-server failures during the game’s October 2024 commercial launch to overloaded login infrastructure and difficulty connecting players to world servers. That is useful historical context, not proof that every current incident has the same cause. Read Amazon’s explanation.
1. Check server status and Known Issues
Do this before changing DNS, forwarding ports, or reinstalling the game.
- Open the official server-status page.
- Check your geographic region and the specific server, not just whether another region is online.
- Look for states such as online, busy, full, or in maintenance.
- Open the official Known Issues page and confirm its displayed update date, since that information changes.
- For Xbox or PlayStation, check the relevant Xbox or PlayStation Network service status as well.
Community reports can show that an incident is widespread, but they are supplementary. Treat an official status notice or support announcement as stronger evidence.

If the status page says online but you still cannot connect, that does not rule out a partial or intermittent regional problem. Note the time and error, check Known Issues again, and continue with the local tests below.
2. Fully restart the game and platform
A real restart clears a stuck launcher, game process, or authentication session; returning to the title screen may not.
Steam and Windows
- Exit THRONE AND LIBERTY.
- Exit Steam through Steam > Exit.
- Wait about 30 seconds.
- Open Steam again and launch the game.
If Steam, THRONE AND LIBERTY, or Easy Anti-Cheat remains stuck, open Task Manager and close the remaining related process before reopening Steam. Use this as a practical escalation, not a guaranteed cure.

Xbox and PlayStation
Close the game completely instead of relying on suspend or resume, then restart the console if the error returns. Amazon’s connectivity guidance also covers console power-cycling, network tests, and, where appropriate, removing and re-adding a user profile.

3. Install pending updates
Check for updates to THRONE AND LIBERTY, Steam, Windows, or your console. A client that is still updating, or a version mismatch after a patch, can prevent the login path from completing.
On Steam, wait until the game has finished updating before launching it. On console, check the game’s update menu and the system software update screen. Restart the platform after an update and try again.
4. Verify THRONE AND LIBERTY’s Steam files
Use this on PC when the problem began after an update, files were interrupted, or the game reaches character selection but fails while entering the world.
- Open Steam and select Library.
- Right-click THRONE AND LIBERTY.
- Select Properties.
- Open Installed Files.
- Choose Verify integrity of game files.
- Wait for the process to finish, restart Steam, and launch the game.
Steam notes that one or more files may fail validation because some local configuration files are not replaced by verification. That message can be normal and does not necessarily mean the process failed. See Steam’s file-verification guidance.

5. Repair Easy Anti-Cheat when the message mentions EAC
Use this fix for messages such as Easy Anti-Cheat (47), EAC Offline, Cannot connect to the server. Exiting the game. [EAC Offline], or Login Blocked: Suspicious Software or Corrupted Install Detected. These are different from an ordinary gate-server message with no EAC wording.
Official Windows procedure
- Verify the game files first using the Steam steps above.
- In Steam Library, right-click THRONE AND LIBERTY and select Manage > Browse local files.
- Open the EasyAntiCheat folder.
- Locate
EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe. - Hold Shift, right-click the executable, and select Copy as path.
- Open Notepad and paste the copied path.
- After the quoted executable path, add a space followed by:
install 58dec5a58e8f4ce6beca223311f65b4c- Press Windows + R, paste the complete command, and run it.
- Approve the Windows permission prompt if it appears.
- Restart Steam and launch THRONE AND LIBERTY.
The path must point to your own installation. Do not paste a sample C:Program Files... path unless that is where your game is installed. Keep the quotation marks around the path if Windows copied them.
Amazon’s EAC troubleshooting guide also recommends current Windows updates, valid Visual C++ Redistributables, closing unnecessary programs, checking for malware, and checking whether security software is blocking EAC. Console players should not use this Steam executable procedure.
6. Power-cycle the modem and router
A complete power cycle can clear a temporary router state and is more useful than simply disconnecting and reconnecting Wi-Fi.
- Close THRONE AND LIBERTY.
- Unplug the modem and router. If either has a battery backup, remove it when appropriate.
- Wait at least 30 seconds.
- Reconnect the modem first and wait for it to synchronize.
- Reconnect the router and wait for Wi-Fi to return.
- Restart your PC or console.
- Launch the game again.
Stop cloud backup, game downloads, video streams, other online games, and large Windows or launcher updates while testing. Amazon and Steam’s network guidance both recommend reducing competing traffic.
7. Test Ethernet or another network
Connect the PC or console by Ethernet if possible. This removes Wi-Fi signal strength and wireless interference from the test. If Ethernet is unavailable, try another Wi-Fi band or a temporary phone hotspot.

A hotspot is a diagnostic tool, not necessarily a good permanent connection: it may have higher latency, data caps, carrier-grade NAT, or unstable service.
- Works on a hotspot but not home internet: suspect the home router, ISP route, filtering, DNS, or firewall rather than immediately blaming the installation.
- Fails on multiple networks: a server-side, platform, account, or EAC issue becomes more likely.
- Only one region or server fails: capacity, regional service trouble, or routing may be involved. Do not bypass regional restrictions.
8. Check firewall, antivirus, overlays, and ports
Security and background software
Confirm that Steam and THRONE AND LIBERTY are allowed through Windows Firewall. Check your antivirus quarantine history for game or EAC files. For a short test, close nonessential overlays and network-filtering tools, then re-enable security software afterward.
Do not permanently disable antivirus or firewall protection. If testing identifies a block, create a targeted allow rule or exclusion through the security product’s normal interface, using only the executable that was actually blocked.
Advanced port guidance
Amazon’s EAC guidance identifies ports 18887–18903 as ports to open or forward when blocked traffic is causing periodic disconnections or failures to enter the world. This is an advanced step, not something every player needs to configure.
- Router menus differ; look for Port Forwarding, NAT, or a similar setting.
- Use the correct local IP address for the gaming PC or console.
- Do not forward random ports, broad ranges, or unrelated services.
- Some university, workplace, hotel, apartment, cellular, and managed networks do not permit port forwarding.
- Do not confuse THRONE AND LIBERTY’s game ports with Steam’s general ports; individual games can require additional ports.

If the status pages show an outage, maintenance, or widespread login failure, stop changing local settings and wait. Monitor the official status and Known Issues pages rather than repeatedly reinstalling the game.

Open an official support ticket when the service appears normal but the error persists after restarting, updating, verifying files, repairing EAC where relevant, and testing another network. Also contact support for a repeatable numbered error, an EAC block, a suspicious-software warning, or an account that cannot log in on another supported device or platform.
Include:
- Platform: Steam/PC, Xbox, or PlayStation.
- Country and server region.
- Character and server name, if accessible.
- The exact error wording and number.
- Approximate date and time, including time zone.
- Whether other games and online services work.
- Whether the problem occurs on another network.
- Screenshots or a short recording.
- PC diagnostic information or game logs if support requests them.
Use Amazon’s official technical support category. Do not post account details or diagnostic files publicly. If the message indicates an enforcement action, provide the exact wording and do not try to evade it with unofficial tools or account changes.

Changing DNS is a lower-confidence diagnostic, not an official guaranteed fix. It may help if an ISP resolver is returning stale or failed lookups, but it cannot repair an Amazon Games outage, a full server, corrupted files, or an EAC block. Record your original DNS settings before changing them; after restoring them, a router reboot or ipconfig /flushdns may be enough.
Community reports about DNS and VPNs are anecdotal and inconsistent. A VPN can worsen latency, change routing, or create account and security concerns. Disable an existing VPN or proxy while troubleshooting, and do not buy or install one as a default solution. DNS community report and VPN and alternate-connection reports.
What not to do
- Do not assume the error proves your internet is bad—or that Amazon is definitely at fault.
- Do not reinstall the entire game before checking status, verifying files, and diagnosing EAC.
- Do not permanently disable your firewall or antivirus.
- Do not forward random or broad port ranges.
- Do not download unofficial “EAC fix” tools or replacement files.
- Do not treat DNS changes or VPNs as guaranteed solutions.
- Do not use Steam-only instructions on Xbox or PlayStation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does verifying Steam files delete my character?
No. Steam’s verification process checks and reacquires local installation files; your character is associated with your game account and server data, not the files being verified.
Why does the game work on a hotspot but not my Wi-Fi?
That pattern points toward the home router, ISP route, DNS, filtering, or firewall. It does not by itself prove that the game installation is damaged.
