Check the game box, manual, and purchase confirmation email for your Tiberian Sun CD key. If you bought the game from EA and the code is missing, contact EA Support with proof of purchase; EA may ask for it, but cannot guarantee recovery. A secondhand code may already be tied to someone else’s account. If your goal is simply to play, digital and community installation options are separate from recovering your original retail key.
Where to find your Tiberian Sun CD key
EA says product codes may be printed inside the game box or manual, or included in the purchase confirmation email. If you have more than one EA account, check that you are signed into the account associated with your purchase before trying to redeem a code.
- Box: Look for a code card or printed code inside the packaging.
- Manual: Check the inside cover and other pages for a product-code label.
- Purchase email: Search your inbox for the order confirmation from the retailer or platform where you bought the game.

What to do if the key is missing or does not work
If you bought the game new
Contact EA Support and have your proof of purchase ready. EA may request it when assisting with a lost code. Recovery is not assured: EA says it cannot help with expired codes, and a code already redeemed on another player’s account cannot be transferred to you through support.

If you bought a used copy
Ask the seller whether the product code was ever redeemed, but treat an unverified answer as uncertain. EA warns that the original owner may already have used a secondhand game code; if it is redeemed on another account, EA cannot help you use it. The discs and manual can still be present even when the code is no longer available to you.
If the code is rejected
First check for mistyped characters and confirm you are using the EA account that owns the game. If the code came with a used copy, it may already be redeemed. For a missing code from a purchase you made, contact EA with the order details and proof of purchase rather than assuming a replacement is available.

Can you play Tiberian Sun without the original CD key?
Possibly, depending on the access route you choose. Playing through a community installer or a digital storefront is not the same as recovering or reusing your original retail code.

What to check before buying a boxed copy
A physical PC CD-ROM copy may suit you if you want the original media, but inspect the exact listing rather than assuming every box includes all components or a usable key.
- Confirm whether the listing includes the game discs and manual.
- Ask whether a product code is present and whether the seller can demonstrate that it is unused. If they cannot, consider the key unverified.
- Do not treat a complete-looking box as proof that its code can still be redeemed.
EA’s 2012 announcement confirms that The Ultimate Collection had a physical version; it does not establish current stock or availability for any particular seller.

Which route makes sense?
- You need your original key: Search the box, manual, and purchase email, then contact EA with proof of purchase if the code is missing.
- You want to play and already own the discs: Check EA’s general older-game guidance. EA says some older titles cannot be redeemed in the EA app and can only be played if the owner still has the disc; its examples include Command & Conquer. That guidance does not specifically confirm the rule for every Tiberian Sun edition.
- You want a digital copy: Consider the community installation route or the listed Steam and EA collection options, understanding that none retrieves the code from your retail copy.
- You are considering a secondhand box: Verify the discs and manual, and assume the key could already have been redeemed unless its unused status is verifiable.
