TikTok partnered with the Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) for the inaugural Esports World Cup, held in Riyadh from July 3 to August 25, 2024. The collaboration focused on entertainment and fan engagement inside TikTok: an event hub, creator content, weekly programming, TikTok LIVE activity and interactive features. The announcements establish the partnership for the 2024 event; they do not confirm that the designation continued for later editions.
What the partnership covered
The EWCF announced the collaboration on April 5, 2024, calling TikTok the event’s “Official Entertainment Platform.” TikTok’s August 1 newsroom post used the label “official entertainment partner.” The wording differed, but both announcements described the same partnership for the first Esports World Cup. Arab News reported that the agreement was signed on July 1, 2024.
The planned work centered on bringing event-related material to TikTok and giving fans ways to follow and interact with the competition. It was not an announcement that TikTok would carry every match.
An EWC hub inside TikTok
The EWCF said a dedicated EWC Hub on TikTok would collect content from the event, official broadcasters, teams and players. The hub was intended as a destination for tournament-related material within the app.

Creators and original content
The partnership announcements described content tailored for TikTok and collaborations with creators. TikTok’s later post also outlined creator participation, interviews and backstage coverage. These were announced coverage plans; the announcements alone do not establish that every planned feature appeared exactly as described.
Weekly programming and LIVE activity
The EWCF announcement described a live weekly show. TikTok’s August post referred to a TikTok LIVE Show featuring esports figures and competition highlights, alongside LIVE activities and interactive elements such as polls and custom LIVE features. The announcements describe programming and fan engagement, not a guarantee that all tournament matches were streamed on TikTok.

What TikTok reported about the 2024 event
In its August 1, 2024 newsroom post, TikTok said its coverage encompassed 22 tournaments and described the event’s total prize pool as $60 million. Those are figures attributed to TikTok’s announcement, not independently verified current statistics.
The cited announcements do not establish an audience or viewership figure for the partnership.

The EWCF’s April 5 announcement introduced the collaboration for the inaugural event in Riyadh. Arab News reported on July 2 that the agreement had been signed the previous day, July 1. TikTok’s August 1 post used the “official entertainment partner” wording and said the tournament ran from July 3 through August 25, 2024.
Together, these sources document a partnership tied to EWC 2024. They do not establish TikTok’s official status for a later Esports World Cup.
