Answer key for January 15, 2025
| Color | Category | Words |
|---|---|---|
| Yellow | MEANS | MECHANISM, MEDIUM, TOOL, VEHICLE |
| Green | LACKING | LIGHT, LOW, SHORT, SHY |
| Blue | MARTINI SPECIFICATIONS | DIRTY, DRY, PERFECT, WET |
| Purple | FICTIONAL MISTERS | BIG, PEANUT, ROBOT, TOAD |
Why each group works
Yellow: MEANS
Here “means” is used in the sense of a method or channel for doing something. A mechanism, a medium, a tool, and a vehicle are each a way something is carried out or transmitted.
Green: LACKING
Light, low, short, and shy can each describe being deficient or below a required amount, as in “short of cash” or “light on staff.” The category is about falling short rather than about any shared meaning of the individual words.

Purple: FICTIONAL MISTERS
Mr. Big, Mr. Peanut, Mr. Robot, and Mr. Toad are fictional characters who carry the “Mr.” title. Recognizing the title pattern is the key step here.
