tpprnuiesn.dll is a ThinPrint Output Gateway printer-driver file, not a standard Windows DLL. When tpprnuiesn.dll is missing, Windows usually cannot start a ThinPrint-managed printing component, virtual desktop printer, or application that depends on it.
The safest fix is to repair or reinstall the ThinPrint component that installed the file. Do not download a replacement DLL from a random website and copy it into System32.

ThinPrint Output Gateway is a virtual printer driver used with ThinPrint printing and Driver Free Printing. It may be installed through ThinPrint Engine, ThinPrint Desktop Agent, a VMware Horizon environment, an RDS or terminal-server image, or an enterprise printer deployment.

It is not identified as a Windows-owned component, Microsoft Visual C++ file, DirectX file, .NET file, or game DLL. The exact program that triggered the error depends on the computer’s deployment. Capture the complete error, including:
- The executable named in the message
- The full path shown by Windows
- Whether the error appeared during printing, login, application startup, or virtual-desktop connection
- Whether the computer is a workstation, RDS server, virtual desktop, or print server
Possible messages include tpprnuiesn.dll is missing, tpprnuiesn.dll was not found, Cannot find tpprnuiesn.dll, or an error saying that a procedure entry point could not be located. These messages all require checking the parent ThinPrint installation rather than replacing the DLL alone.
Fix 1: Repair ThinPrint or Output Gateway
Time needed: 10 to 20 minutes
Start with the installed ThinPrint product. Repairing the parent package restores the DLL, related printer-driver files, language resources, registrations, and dependencies together.

- Press Windows + I to open Settings.
- Select Apps.
- Select Installed apps on Windows 11. On Windows 10, select Apps & features.
- Search for ThinPrint, ThinPrint Engine, ThinPrint Desktop Agent, or a related virtual-printing entry.
- Select the three-dot menu beside the product.
- Choose Advanced options if available.
- Select Repair and follow the prompts.
- If there is no Repair option, open Control Panel.
- Select Programs, then Programs and Features.
- Select the ThinPrint entry and choose Change, Repair, or Modify, depending on what the installer provides.
- Restart Windows.
- Test the application or print queue that produced the error.
If the repair succeeds, the error should stop appearing and the ThinPrint-managed printer should become available again. If printing still fails, remove and reinstall the affected ThinPrint component using the installer supplied by your organization or the approved ThinPrint download source.
Do not install a newer package blindly if the computer connects to a managed print server or virtual-desktop environment. Ask the administrator for the matching version and architecture.
Fix 2: Uninstall and reinstall the complete ThinPrint package
Time needed: 15 to 30 minutes
Use this step when Repair is unavailable, the installation is incomplete, or the error began after a failed update or uninstall.
- Close the affected application.
- Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Find the ThinPrint product.
- Select the three-dot menu and choose Uninstall.
- If Settings does not offer the correct entry, open Control Panel > Programs and Features and uninstall it there.
- Restart the computer when prompted.
- Sign in with an administrator account.
- Run the approved ThinPrint installer.
- Install the features required by your environment, including the Output Gateway or TPOG feature if your deployment uses it.
- Restart Windows again.
- Reconnect to the virtual desktop or remap the managed printer.
- Test printing and reopen the application that showed the DLL error.
A complete reinstall is preferable to copying one file because the printer driver, registry entries, language resources, services, and supporting files must match. If this is a company-managed computer, the administrator may need to redeploy the Desktop Agent or Engine through the organization’s software-distribution system or golden image.

If the same error returns immediately after reinstalling, record the installer version, Windows edition, system architecture, application path, and installation log. The deployment may be installing only part of the ThinPrint feature set.
Fix 3: Check Windows Security quarantine
Time needed: 5 to 10 minutes
Antivirus software can remove or quarantine a legitimate driver file, but an alert must be investigated before restoring anything.
- Open Start and search for Windows Security.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Select Protection history.
- Review recent events for
tpprnuiesn.dll, ThinPrint, the printer driver, or the affected installer. - Open the event and inspect its path, detection name, and source.
- If the file is clearly part of an approved ThinPrint installation and your organization permits restoration, follow the on-screen restore or allow instructions.
- Reinstall ThinPrint afterward if the file was removed or damaged.
- Run another security scan.
Do not disable Microsoft Defender merely to make the error disappear. If the file came from an unofficial DLL site, appears in an unexpected directory, lacks an appropriate vendor signature, or triggers repeated detections, leave it quarantined and scan the computer.
A restored file may be detected again unless the security product explicitly allows it. Any exclusion should be approved by the organization after the installer and file have been verified.

A 32-bit process can require a 32-bit DLL even on 64-bit Windows. A file copied from another ThinPrint release can also produce an entry-point or dependency error instead of a simple missing-file error.
Check the following before reinstalling:
- Press Windows + I.
- Select System > About.
- Review System type.
- Ask which ThinPrint release and architecture the organization’s installer provides.
- Confirm that the application named in the error is using the same intended deployment.
- Reinstall the complete matching package rather than replacing only
tpprnuiesn.dll.
Do not assume that every ThinPrint release contains identical 32-bit and 64-bit copies. Historical file indexes report a version and size for this filename, but those values are not a universal current specification. A matching package is more important than matching a number found in a search result.
Windows can find DLLs in several locations, and multiple copies may exist. That is another reason not to place a downloaded file in C:WindowsSystem32 or C:WindowsSysWOW64.

Fix 5: Update the printer deployment or driver
Time needed: 10 to 30 minutes
If the problem started after a printer-driver change, update, Windows upgrade, or virtual-desktop image change, the printer registration may no longer match the ThinPrint package.

- Expand Print queues and Printers.
- Look for the ThinPrint or Output Gateway printer.
- Right-click the affected device and select Properties.
- Review the Driver tab and note the provider, date, and version.
- Do not remove a managed driver unless your administrator has instructed you to do so.
- If the driver is locally managed, select Update driver and use the approved driver package.
- Restart the Print Spooler only if directed by your support process.
- Test the printer again.

On VMware Horizon, RDS, or print servers, the correct fix may have to be applied to the master image or server rather than the individual workstation. A local Device Manager update cannot repair an incomplete enterprise deployment.
Fix 6: Repair Windows components
Time needed: 15 to 30 minutes
This DLL is associated with ThinPrint, so Windows repair commands are secondary. Use them when the system has broader installation problems, failed updates, or other protected-file errors.
- Open Start.
- Type
Command Prompt. - Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
- Run this command:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
- Wait for it to finish.
- Run:
sfc /scannow
- Wait until verification reaches 100 percent.
- Restart Windows.
- Retry the ThinPrint repair or reinstall.
Microsoft recommends running DISM before System File Checker. These commands repair Windows components and protected Windows files; they do not download or reconstruct a third-party ThinPrint DLL.
Outbyte PC Repair can make repeated component checks less tedious by showing what its scan identifies; the free scan reports issues, while repairs require the full version. Reinstalling the ThinPrint parent application is still the definitive fix when the missing file belongs to that product.
If DISM or SFC reports errors, save the result and repair Windows before attempting another ThinPrint deployment. If both commands complete successfully but the DLL error remains, return to the ThinPrint installer.

regsvr32 is designed to register DLLs that expose a registration entry point such as DllRegisterServer. It does not restore a missing file, repair an MSI installation, install a printer driver, or fix missing dependencies.
Running this command:
regsvr32 tpprnuiesn.dll
may produce an error stating that DllRegisterServer was not found. That message does not prove that the DLL is corrupt. Unless ThinPrint documentation or your administrator specifically instructs you to register this file, do not use regsvr32.

Why the error happens
The most likely causes are:
- An incomplete or damaged ThinPrint Output Gateway installation
- A failed ThinPrint update, uninstall, or enterprise deployment
- A 32-bit and 64-bit mismatch
- Files from different ThinPrint releases being mixed
- Antivirus quarantine or removal
- A broken printer-driver registration
- Windows component corruption interfering with installation
- An untrusted replacement DLL or DLL search-path problem
The exact triggering application cannot be determined from the filename alone. The executable and full path in the error are essential.
What not to install
Do not install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables, DirectX, or .NET solely because the missing item ends in .dll. There is no verified evidence that tpprnuiesn.dll belongs to those runtimes.
Do not use DLL download sites websites. A standalone copy may contain malware, the wrong architecture, the wrong language resource, or an incompatible ThinPrint release. It can also leave the printer driver and installer state broken.
Use the organization’s approved ThinPrint installer, software portal, deployment system, or official ThinPrint download source instead. If ThinPrint is no longer required, uninstalling the parent product is safer than replacing its files.

Is tpprnuiesn.dll a Windows system file?
