Start with this quick diagnostic checklist
Before replacing anything, record:
- Which program shows the error: a ThinPrint application, printer properties, a remote desktop session, or another program.
- When it appears: during Windows startup, printer setup, printing, or when opening printer preferences.
- Whether one printer or every ThinPrint printer is affected.
- Your Windows architecture: go to Settings > System > About and check System type.
- The file’s location and properties: search for
tpprnuiptg.dll, then open Properties > Details and Properties > Digital Signatures if those tabs are available.

Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →tpprnuiptg.dll is a ThinPrint Output Gateway driver-interface DLL, not a normal Windows system file. If Windows says it is missing, not found, or could not be loaded, the safest solution is usually to repair the ThinPrint Engine, Output Gateway, or printer package that installed it.
What tpprnuiptg.dll belongs to
The file is associated with ThinPrint Output Gateway, a virtual printer driver used for driver-free printing. Output Gateway helps render print data remotely through the native printer driver on another machine, which is why it may appear in remote printing, terminal-server, or managed printer environments.

Public inventories describe the file as “Interface de usuário do driver TPOG,” meaning “TPOG driver user interface,” and identify ThinPrint AG as its publisher. Older inventories list a historical version and file size, but those details do not establish the correct version for a current installation.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThis file is not supplied by Windows, Microsoft Visual C++, or DirectX. It is also not normally something you should expect to find in C:WindowsSystem32 or C:WindowsSysWOW64. Its proper location depends on the ThinPrint package and the printer environment that installed it.

A program may request the DLL when you:
- Open a ThinPrint printer’s properties
- Add or reconnect a ThinPrint printer
- Print through Remote Desktop or another remote session
- Start ThinPrint management software
- Install or update a ThinPrint printer driver
- Print after a ThinPrint Engine upgrade or rollback
Fix 1: Repair the ThinPrint installation
This is the most likely fix when printing or printer configuration triggers the error.
- Close the program showing the error.
- Open Settings.
- Select Apps > Installed apps on Windows 11, or Apps > Apps & features on Windows 10.
- Search for entries named ThinPrint Engine, ThinPrint Output Gateway, or a larger application that includes ThinPrint printing.
- Select the entry and choose Modify, Change, or Repair, if available.
- Follow the maintenance wizard and restart Windows.
- Try the same printing or printer-management action again.
If the repair option is not available:
- Write down the installed ThinPrint product and version shown in the app list or installer.
- Remove the affected ThinPrint component.
- Restart Windows.
- Download the matching package from ThinPrint’s official download center.
- Install the package intended for your deployed ThinPrint Engine and printer environment.
- Reconnect or recreate the affected printer.
ThinPrint’s current download center lists Output Gateway separately from other products. Do not assume that an old DLL inventory version is the right file for a modern installation.
Success looks like: the ThinPrint application opens, printer properties load, and a test print completes without the DLL message.

If it fails: continue with the printer-driver repair below instead of copying a replacement DLL into a Windows folder.
Fix 2: Remove and reinstall the affected printer driver
Use this path when only one printer fails, or when the error started after a printer-driver update.
- Press Windows key + R.
- Type
control printersand press Enter. - Right-click the affected printer and choose Remove device.
- Restart Windows.
- Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners on Windows 11, or Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners on Windows 10.
- Select Add device and reconnect the printer through the ThinPrint setup used by your organization.
- If the ThinPrint installer provides a driver repair or reinstall option, use that instead of manually selecting a generic Windows printer driver.
- Print a test page.
If the old driver remains:
- Press Windows key + R.
- Enter
printui.exe /s /t2and press Enter. - Open the Drivers tab.
- Select the obsolete ThinPrint driver.
- Choose Remove.
- Select Remove driver and driver package when Windows offers that choice.
- Restart Windows.
- Install the correct ThinPrint package again.
Do not remove a driver that is still used by other printers without checking with your administrator. If every ThinPrint printer fails, repair the Engine or Output Gateway installation before removing multiple printer drivers.

Manually hunting through several driver versions is slow, especially when a 32-bit application is calling a 32-bit component on 64-bit Windows. Outbyte Driver Updater can scan for outdated or damaged drivers and show what needs attention; its full-version repair and installation features are optional, and the ThinPrint package remains the definitive source for this specific DLL.

A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 11Fix 3: Check antivirus quarantine
Security software may remove or quarantine a legitimate driver file, particularly after an update or a change in detection rules.
Windows Security
- Open Start and search for Windows Security.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Choose Protection history.
- Look for an event involving
tpprnuiptg.dll, ThinPrint, or the printer driver. - Review the detected file path, detection name, and action taken.
- Do not restore the file solely because a third-party DLL page labels it safe.
- If the file was part of a verified ThinPrint installation, restore it only according to your organization’s security policy.
- Repair or reinstall the official ThinPrint package afterward.
If the file is detected in an unexpected temporary folder or unrelated application directory, leave it quarantined and run a full scan. Contact your security administrator if the computer is managed.
Success looks like: the official ThinPrint repair restores the component and the security product no longer removes it.
If it fails: obtain the detection details, file path, and ThinPrint installer information before contacting ThinPrint support. Repeatedly restoring quarantined files can recreate the same problem.
Fix 4: Check for a failed update or architecture mismatch
A partially completed upgrade can leave an older printer component calling a newer or missing file.
Check these items:
- The ThinPrint Engine version installed
- The Output Gateway or printer-driver package version
- Whether the calling application is 32-bit or 64-bit
- Whether Windows is 32-bit or 64-bit
- Whether the printer server and client use compatible ThinPrint components
- Whether the error began immediately after an upgrade, rollback, or printer migration
On 64-bit Windows, a 32-bit application can still require a 32-bit driver component. Do not choose a package based only on the Windows system type. Use the installer that matches the deployed ThinPrint Engine and printer environment.

Remove the affected printer and reinstall the matching package rather than combining an old tpprnuiptg.dll with a newer driver. The historical public listing for this filename includes an architecture label, but it does not confirm every variant shipped by ThinPrint.
Fix 5: Restart the print spooler
A damaged or stuck spooler can keep stale driver references active.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Press Windows key + R.
- Type
services.mscand press Enter. - Find Print Spooler.
- Right-click it and select Restart.
- Try printing again.
If jobs are stuck:
- Right-click Print Spooler and choose Stop.
- Open File Explorer and enter this path in the address bar:
C:WindowsSystem32spoolPRINTERS
- Delete the files inside that folder, not the folder itself.
- Return to Services.
- Right-click Print Spooler and select Start.
- Reinstall or reconnect the affected ThinPrint printer.
If only one printer still fails, remove and recreate that printer. If every ThinPrint printer fails, return to the ThinPrint package repair steps.
Fix 6: Use DISM and SFC only for broader Windows damage
tpprnuiptg.dll is identified with ThinPrint rather than as a protected Windows component, so System File Checker is unlikely to restore this particular file. Use Windows repair commands when other Windows files are also failing, the issue followed a failed update, or an installer reports component-store corruption.
- Open Start.
- Type Command Prompt.
- Right-click it and select Run as administrator.
- Run this command:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
- Wait for it to finish.
- Then run:
sfc /scannow
- Restart Windows.
- Test the ThinPrint application again.
Run DISM before SFC. DISM repairs the Windows component store, while SFC checks protected Windows files afterward.
Repeating SFC and DISM without knowing whether Windows components changed can waste time. Outbyte PC Repair can scan for broader system problems and identify repair areas; its full-version repair is optional, and repairing or reinstalling ThinPrint remains the definitive fix when this file belongs to that package.
Success looks like: Windows reports that repairs completed and other system problems improve.

If it fails: record the exact result, then focus on the ThinPrint installer, printer driver, and application that requested the DLL.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Do not download or register the DLL blindly
Avoid DLL download websites and random file copies. A replacement may have the wrong ThinPrint release, architecture, language resources, or dependencies, and it may contain unwanted software. Copying it to System32, SysWOW64, or an unrelated program folder can also leave the printer package inconsistent.
Use the official ThinPrint download center or the installer supplied by your organization instead.
regsvr32 is usually not relevant here. Microsoft documents that it works only when a DLL provides a registration entry point such as DllRegisterServer. There is no established public evidence that tpprnuiptg.dll is an ActiveX or COM server. Running:
regsvr32 tpprnuiptg.dll
speculatively may produce an error stating that DllRegisterServer was not found. Repair the ThinPrint package instead. Use regsvr32 only if ThinPrint support explicitly instructs you to register that exact release.
If the error says “specified module could not be found”
This message does not always mean that tpprnuiptg.dll itself is absent. Windows can show it when the named DLL exists but one of its dependent DLLs is missing, incompatible, or blocked.

Check:
- The complete error text.
- The executable or printer component that displayed it.
- The file path of
tpprnuiptg.dll. - The file’s Properties details and digital signature, if present.
- Antivirus Protection history.
- Event Viewer entries around the same time.
- Event Viewer > Applications and Services Logs > Microsoft > Windows > PrintService for printer-related failures.
If the file remains after ThinPrint is uninstalled, a stale printer-driver entry or another application may still be requesting it. Identify that caller before deleting files.

FAQ
Is tpprnuiptg.dll a Windows file?
No. It is associated with ThinPrint Output Gateway, a virtual printer-driver component. It should not normally be restored from Windows system folders.
Is it a Visual C++ runtime DLL?
No. Reinstall Visual C++ only if the complete error identifies a missing Visual C++ runtime dependency. It is not the primary repair for tpprnuiptg.dll.
Should I copy the file from another computer?
Not unless ThinPrint support confirms that the other computer has the identical package and instructs you to do so. Repairing the original installation is safer.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
Why does the error appear when I open printer properties?
The printer interface may be loading the ThinPrint Output Gateway component. Repair the ThinPrint package and recreate the affected printer if necessary.
Will SFC restore tpprnuiptg.dll?
Not normally. SFC repairs protected Windows files, while this DLL belongs to ThinPrint. Use SFC and DISM for broader Windows corruption.
What if the file exists but still cannot be loaded?
Investigate dependent DLLs, architecture compatibility, antivirus blocking, and the executable requesting the file. “Module not found” can refer to a dependency rather than the named file itself.
