Traitorous Straghess, also called the Dreglord, is a Nightlord boss in ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN: The Forsaken Hollows. The expansion is separate DLC and requires the base game. Guides describe a second form after the first health bar is depleted, along with Scarlet Rot hazards, but reported weaknesses conflict—so treat any “best element” claim cautiously.
Where to find Traitorous Straghess
Straghess is one of The Forsaken Hollows expansion’s new final bosses, identified by Eldenpedia as the Dreglord. The publisher describes the DLC as adding two Nightfarers, two third-day bosses, and a new Shifting Earth. Bandai Namco’s expansion announcement says it is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
The expansion is not included with the base game. Steam lists The Forsaken Hollows as DLC and says it requires ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN: Steam’s expansion listing. Bandai Namco also has a DLC unlock guide; its instructions cover conditions for accessing DLC content, but do not establish a direct Straghess unlock route.
What happens during the fight
Game8 reports that depleting the Dreglord’s first health bar leads to a second form called Pure Impulse Straghess, and describes Scarlet Rot and other hazards in the encounter. These are guide-reported details, not independently verified here. Eldenpedia also identifies Pure Impulse Straghess as the second form and lists The Night of Dregs as a reward.

Prepare for hazards and a longer encounter
Because the reported fight includes Scarlet Rot and continues into another health bar, plan for sustained survivability rather than treating the opening phase as the whole encounter. Game8 discusses consumables and stamina/resource management in its Dreglord guide. Use those as tactical considerations, not a guarantee that a particular item or approach is required.
Are there weaknesses or a best damage type?
The available guides do not agree. Mobalytics says the Dreglord has no weaknesses, while Eldenpedia lists damage-negation values and other guide text points toward vulnerabilities. That evidence does not establish a reliable, definitive elemental recommendation. Compare the weapons and damage types available to your party in-game rather than building around a promised weakness.

Eldenpedia reproduces the expedition description as calling the fiend a mass of bodies and discarded detritus with “no obvious weakness.” That is flavor text, not a tested damage chart. Its page also contains unfilled placeholder labels in its general information, so its listed values should not be treated as a settled answer to the guides’ disagreement.
How to approach the fight
- Build for endurance: Account for the reported second health bar and preserve stamina and resources for later phases.
- Manage Scarlet Rot: Keep the guide-reported hazard in mind when choosing how to stay safe and when to commit to attacks.
- Coordinate roles: Prioritize party survivability and clear attack opportunities; the cited material does not establish a best character, build, or team composition.
- Stay flexible on damage: Since published claims about weaknesses conflict, use what performs reliably for your own party rather than assuming one element is optimal.
Is “Traitorous Straghess” also a soundtrack track?
Yes. “Traitorous Straghess” is also the title of a Shoi Miyazawa track on the ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN The Forsaken Hollows soundtrack; Apple Music lists its release date as February 16, 2026. If you searched for the boss, the alternate name to look for in guides is Dreglord.
