Transport Fever 3 does not have official multiplayer. Urban Games’ support information describes the game as a single-player experience, but community projects now add online play for Windows users who own the Steam version. MPFever is the most extensively documented option: each participant runs a local copy of the game while the mod synchronizes actions into one shared transport network. It supports cooperative companies, separate competing companies and mixed arrangements. The experience is intended to feel seamless, but it is not an official feature or a guarantee against desynchronization, crashes or host reloads.
Does Transport Fever 3 have official multiplayer?

That synchronization covers the core management actions players expect in a transport sandbox:

Because construction is replicated, one player can lay a route while another expands a town, buys vehicles or redesigns a junction. The host still determines the session’s save and world state.
How do I install and start an MPFever session?
Use the complete release folder rather than copying only the executable. The documented setup is:
- Download a current MPFever release and extract the entire folder.
- Run
MPFever.exefrom that folder. It locates Steam, installs the mod and launches Transport Fever 3. - Open the game’s Multiplayer card. The host selects a savegame.
- Have other players join the host or accept a Steam invitation. IP and local-network connections are also documented.
- Before anyone starts building, confirm that all players use the same Transport Fever 3 build, MPFever version and required mods.
- Back up important saves. The project is still in active development and warns that desynchronization can occur.
MPFever’s lobby can check mod versions, install missing Mod Hub content and offer host-local mods. Interface-only modifications may still differ between players, so a visually different interface does not necessarily mean the simulation is incompatible.

What happens when the players’ games drift apart?
MPFever compares session state every 10 seconds. Money differences are corrected immediately. If a more persistent difference remains, the host world can be reloaded; the project describes that recovery as taking about 20 seconds.
This is why “seamless” should be read as an intended flow, not a promise that multiplayer is invisible. A reload can interrupt construction, and an update or incompatible mod can create problems before a session begins. Keeping matching installations and recent save backups is the most practical protection.
How do the other Transport Fever 3 multiplayer projects compare?
MPFever is not the only community attempt. FeverLink3 and TPF3-MP describe different joining methods and are separate projects, not Urban Games features. Their release status and maturity can change quickly, so check the project’s current listing before committing a long campaign.
