The announcement does not affect Rainbow Six Siege, which Ubisoft’s September 2026 Siege pages show continuing with seasonal updates and upcoming content.
Is Rainbow Six Mobile shutting down?
Yes, with a delayed end date. On October 8, 2026, the Rainbow Six Mobile development team published a statement in Spanish saying Ubisoft had made the difficult decision to end the game. The team’s line on availability translates as “The game will remain available until January 15, 2027.” The statement is signed by the team rather than an individual, and it does not give an hour or time zone for the cutoff.

Did Rainbow Six Mobile just launch in 2026?
Not in the sense the phrase suggests. The 2026 date is the worldwide release. Ubisoft describes a development and early-access history that began in 2023, and its shutdown post credits players with helping shape the game across 15 seasons since that early access began. Treat “15 seasons” as Ubisoft’s own retrospective count of the game’s seasonal content, not as a span of years since the worldwide launch.
Ubisoft’s launch communications also use two different dates. The December 2025 announcement set February 23, 2026 as the worldwide launch day, while the launch post says the game went live worldwide on February 24. If you need a single date for the worldwide launch, February 24, 2026 is the one Ubisoft’s live post supports; February 23 is the date it had announced in advance.

What Ubisoft said about the decision
The statement confirms the decision, the availability window, the timing of the next season, and the team’s move to other strategic long-term projects. It also promises more details in the following weeks so players can prepare for the transition.
It does not explain why the decision was made. Ubisoft did not cite player numbers, revenue, operating costs, or technical problems, so any claim about those causes would be speculation. Community posts that describe the game as “sunset” or “shutting down” use reader phrasing; the official wording is that Ubisoft is ending the game.

What about Rainbow Six Siege?
Rainbow Six Siege is a separate game, and Ubisoft’s end-of-service statement does not mention it. Ubisoft’s September 2026 Siege pages describe ongoing seasonal updates and future content in 2026. That supports the narrower point that Siege was still being actively supported when those pages were published, not a guarantee of its long-term future.

- The game stays playable until the stated date. Ubisoft has given a future availability date; it has not announced an immediate shutoff.
- A further season is expected. The statement said the next season was expected the week after the announcement, so the content calendar is not stopping at once.
- Transition details are still pending. Ubisoft said it would share more information in the coming weeks. Check the official Rainbow Six Mobile channels for the exact steps, including anything about progress or purchases, rather than relying on secondhand summaries.
- Dates can change. The January 15, 2027 date is what Ubisoft has stated as of October 2026, and later updates from Ubisoft would supersede it.
The worldwide launch date and the end-of-service date are different events, and the name of this title should not be read as a description of a game that only recently became available.
