Ubisoft subsequently confirmed it as a remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, released on July 9, 2026.
What the PEGI leak revealed
On December 9, 2025, GamesRadar+ reported that a PEGI website entry had appeared for “Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.” The report said it carried a PEGI 18 rating and listed violence, bad language, and in-game purchases as content descriptors.

What Ubisoft confirmed
Ubisoft’s official page names the game Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced and describes it as a remake based on Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. The publisher says it has been rebuilt from the ground up on the latest version of the Anvil Engine. Ubisoft announced the remake on April 23, 2026, and said Ubisoft Singapore led development, with original developers returning.

Release date and platforms
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced released on July 9, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Ubisoft lists PC availability through the Ubisoft Store, Steam, and Epic Games Store, and says the game is Steam Deck verified. The release date was set in Ubisoft’s April 23 announcement and confirmed in its July 9 launch coverage. It is therefore a released game, not an upcoming 2026 title.

How the game performed at launch
Ubisoft said on July 10, 2026, that the game had sold 2 million copies on launch day. On July 17, the publisher announced sales of more than 3 million copies in its first week. These are sequential milestones reported by Ubisoft, not independent sales estimates.
