Lullaby is a side quest in Fallen Village > Marketplace. Start it by approaching the empty crib in the house near the water. The objective is a short retrieval run: collect the Weathered Key outside the house, use it to reach a second house across the river, take the Toy from the bed, and return it to the crib. Completion awards Tomorrow’s Promise, an Amber.
No reliable guide publishes a recommended player level for Lullaby. The quest is not documented as missable, and it can be completed after the story. A replay command or repeat-reward system has not been documented, so replayability remains unconfirmed rather than guaranteed.

What is the Lullaby quest in Valor Mortis?
Lullaby is a retrieval-focused side quest located in Fallen Village’s Marketplace district. Its central interaction is an empty crib inside a house near the water. Approaching that crib starts the quest and points you toward a nearby key, a locked house across the river, and a toy that must be brought back to the starting location.
The route deliberately sends you through a previously visited area. That backtracking fits Valor Mortis’s exploration-led, metroidvania-like structure: new access or a newly acquired item can make an earlier path relevant again. Lullaby is therefore less about finding a hidden quest giver and more about reading the environment, checking the route behind the starting house, and using the key at the correct door.

How to start and finish Lullaby
Use the following route in order. The Marketplace Lantern is the most convenient starting point if you have already reached the district.
- Reach Fallen Village > Marketplace. Fast-travel to, or travel normally toward, the Marketplace Lantern.
- Find the house near the water. Enter the house and approach the empty crib. Interacting with the crib starts Lullaby.
- Leave through the back door. Do not continue searching the front room for the objective. The next item is outside, behind the house.
- Pick up the Weathered Key. The key is near the enemies outside the back door. Defeat or evade the enemies as necessary, then collect the item.
- Head back toward the previous area. Turn toward the Marketplace Lantern and follow the route in the direction you came from rather than pushing farther into the new section.
- Pass the Volunteer and turn right. At this landmark, take the right-hand route toward the river.
- Cross to the house beyond the river. Jump across the river to reach the house on the opposite side.
- Unlock the door with the Weathered Key. The key is used on this house, not on the crib house.
- Take the Toy from the bed. Search the bed inside the unlocked house and collect the quest item.
- Return to the crib house. Retrace the route to the original house near the water.
- Interact with the crib. Bringing the Toy back and using it at the crib completes Lullaby and grants Tomorrow’s Promise.
The key progression is therefore crib, back door, Weathered Key, river house, Toy, crib again. If the quest appears stalled, check that sequence before assuming the objective is broken.
Where is the Weathered Key?
The Weathered Key is outside the Marketplace crib house, close to the enemies reached through the house’s back door. It is not inside the locked river house and is not obtained by interacting with the crib a second time.

After starting Lullaby, exit through the rear entrance and inspect the area around the enemies. Once the key is in your inventory, the intended route bends back toward the earlier area. From the path near the Volunteer, turn right and cross the river to the house beyond it. That is the door the Weathered Key opens.
This layout can be confusing because the quest moves you away from the crib immediately, then asks you to reverse direction after the pickup. If you reach the river house without a key, return to the crib house’s back side and search around the enemies again. If you have the key but cannot find the usable door, make sure you crossed to the house on the opposite bank rather than trying doors in the starting building.
What level should you be for Lullaby?
No numeric recommended level is published in the available Lullaby walkthroughs. It would be misleading to assign a level requirement or suggest that the quest has a formal level gate.

- Mediterranean Horror: Explore the forsaken capital of an awe-inspiring archipelago. Do not let yourself be fooled by the gentle sea breeze, the Mediterranean vistas or the comforting summer sun. Since the Devil's Fevers pandemic ravaged the city, it was abandoned, and now only horrific nightmares await there.
- Survive your Nemesis: Someone is relentlessly hunting you. Suffer and agonize while you try to run away from the encounters with this strange stalker obsessed with you.
- Intense Challenges: Solve environmental riddles, physics puzzles and other similar challenges in an interconnected vertical world. Even while being chased and hunted.
- Accessibility and Photomode: Tweak more than 20 Accessibility settings to create a tailored experience for you. Use the Photomode to make perfect shots and unlock many secrets using it.
Instead, use your current ability to handle the enemies behind the crib house and to traverse the route to the river. The guides establish the location and sequence, but they do not provide enemy-level data, a minimum-stat threshold, or a developer-authored recommendation. If the enemies are currently too dangerous, postponing the quest is reasonable; there is no evidence that waiting until after the story causes Lullaby to disappear.

Before setting out, make sure you can identify the Marketplace Lantern, the Volunteer landmark, and the river crossing. Those navigation checks matter more than an unverified number. The only firm preparation requirement shown by the route is access to Fallen Village’s Marketplace and the ability to reach the enemies and jump across the river.
What do you get for completing Lullaby?
The reward is Tomorrow’s Promise, an Amber. The Amber listing for Fallen Village > Marketplace identifies Tomorrow’s Promise as the reward attached to Lullaby, matching the side-quest walkthrough.

Ambers function as equipment-effect collectibles in Valor Mortis. The available Amber guide records 28 unique Ambers across 55 locations, so Tomorrow’s Promise is part of a broader collectible and build-customization system rather than a currency payout or a consumable quest item. Lullaby is consequently worth completing even when you are not following every side quest: it adds a named Amber to your collection.
The evidence identifies the item and its category, but it does not establish a separate bonus for completing Lullaby early, a choice-dependent version of the reward, or an additional material or currency bundled with it. Treat Tomorrow’s Promise as the confirmed quest reward.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteIs Lullaby missable?
Lullaby is not listed as missable. The side-quest guide covering Valor Mortis states that, with the exception of The Choir, side quests can be started and completed after the story. Lullaby falls within that general rule.
Best Value
- Value for money

- Perfect puzzling: Puzzles slowly increase in complexity enabling seamless progression and rewarding exploration.
That makes it safe to postpone while you continue the main path. You can return to Fallen Village later, use the Marketplace Lantern, start the quest at the crib, and follow the same retrieval route. Post-story availability does not mean every world state is permanently unchanged, but the published side-quest information gives no warning of a Lullaby cutoff, timer, or decision that permanently closes it.
Can you replay Lullaby after finishing it?
Replayability is unconfirmed. The available guides do not document a replay command, a way to reset Lullaby, or a repeat-reward rule. They also do not say that the quest definitely becomes replayable after completion.
For practical planning, assume you have one documented completion and one documented Tomorrow’s Promise reward. If you return to the crib after finishing the quest and no interaction starts, that behavior is consistent with the absence of a published replay system; it is not evidence of a missed step. There is likewise no documented method for earning a second Tomorrow’s Promise through repetition.

The crib does not start the quest
- Confirm that you are in Fallen Village > Marketplace, not another Fallen Village building.
- Enter the house near the water and approach the empty crib itself. The quest begins at the interaction, not merely by entering the area.
- If you are following the route after the story, return through the Marketplace Lantern and check the crib again rather than assuming the quest was automatically accepted elsewhere.
The Weathered Key is missing
- Leave through the crib house’s back door. The item is positioned near the enemies outside.
- Search the ground around that enemy group after starting the quest; the key is not inside the river house.
- Verify that the quest actually began at the crib before leaving. Without the start trigger, the intended pickup may not be active.
The river house will not open
- Follow the route back toward the previous area and use the Volunteer as the navigation landmark.
- Turn right after the Volunteer and jump across the river to the house on the far side.
- Interact with that door while the Weathered Key is in your inventory. Trying the starting house or a different door will not advance the objective.
The quest does not complete after finding the Toy
- Take the Toy from the bed inside the unlocked river house; merely opening the door is not enough.
- Return to the original crib house near the water.
- Interact with the crib again. The second crib interaction is the completion trigger.
How Lullaby fits into Valor Mortis’s side-quest structure
The side-quest guide lists 20 side quests in Valor Mortis and identifies The Choir as the exception to the general post-story availability rule. Lullaby is one of the quests that can be safely delayed under that guidance.
Its design also illustrates the game’s emphasis on exploration. The objective begins at a conspicuous environmental object, sends you through a rear exit to obtain a key, then requires a return toward an earlier area before a river crossing reveals the locked house. The quest does not publish a recommended level, a timer, or a repeat schedule; its reliable markers are geography, item names, and the crib-to-crib interaction sequence.
