That history does not prove that every later WD-L020 report has the same cause or that every occurrence is resolved. On an updated installation, record the full code, Windows build, GPU driver, and the point at which the error appears, then send those details through Team17’s official player-support route. Do not uninstall a Windows security update simply because an older report associated it with the crash.
What if WARDOGS crashes but the whole PC does not?
A desktop crash is an application-level failure until evidence shows otherwise. Repeat the installation, driver, Elytra, security-software, and overclock checks above, and note whether the crash happens in the menu, firing range, loading screen, or live match.

Team17’s support discussion also mentions Qemu Guest agent or Dr. Web conflicts and Windows Insider builds as possible factors. If either applies, test from a standard, supported configuration where practical. Do not infer a shared cause from another player’s report: the pinned discussion contains reports of both game crashes and blue screens, but those reports do not establish one common diagnosis.
What if WARDOGS freezes Windows, reboots, or causes a blue screen?

If your hardware and symptom do not match Intel’s Arc B580 case, change one variable at a time and restore settings that do not help. Keep the qualifiers attached to every comparison. “60 FPS” without 1080p Low and upscaled is incomplete, just as “70 FPS” without 1440p Medium and native rendering is incomplete. Steam’s listing states 16 GB as the memory requirement and 50 GB as available storage; having more capacity does not by itself repair a software crash.

That is a useful model for organized evidence, not a requirement to publish private diagnostic dumps. Share diagnostic files only through the official support channel and remove personal information where appropriate.
