Warframe’s closed Android beta did go live on November 28, 2025, but it is no longer the way to access the game. Digital Extremes, the London, Ontario-based developer, launched Warframe on Android in Canada on February 11, 2026, followed by worldwide availability through Google Play on February 18.
The beta was real, but it has ended
The original closed beta gave selected players a chance to test Warframe on Android and provide feedback before release. Registration was available through warframe.com/android, but signing up did not guarantee admission. Testers also had to meet country and device requirements and follow further instructions sent to the email address associated with their Warframe account.

Digital Extremes directed applicants to its official beta FAQ for the precise device, regional, account and progress rules. Those rules should not be confused with the requirements or availability of the finished Android release.
How to play Warframe on Android now
The production version is distributed through the official Warframe listing on Google Play. It is free to download and play, with optional in-app purchases.

Android users no longer need a beta invitation. However, Google Play availability and installation still depend on the phone meeting the game’s technical requirements and on the app being available in the user’s region.

Meeting the baseline does not guarantee identical performance across phones. Warframe is a large, online action game, so frame rate, loading times, heat, battery drain and available storage can vary substantially by device. Google Play reviews include user reports of touchscreen-control difficulties, loading problems and performance differences; those reports are anecdotal rather than controlled testing.

What existing players should check
Android access is not the same thing as automatically importing a PC or console profile. Returning players should make sure Cross Platform Save is correctly configured on their Warframe account before expecting their progression to appear on Android.

Cross Platform Save concerns account and progression continuity. It should not be treated as a blanket statement that every platform feature or multiplayer arrangement worked identically during the closed beta. Beta participants may also have been subject to separate progress-reset, purchase or account-linking rules; the beta FAQ was the authority for those details.
New players received the launch login reward after completing The Awakening, while returning players could receive it after setting up Cross Platform Save, according to Digital Extremes’ launch announcement. Those were production-launch conditions, not general beta-access benefits.

Touch controls, controllers and storage
The Android edition brings the broader Warframe experience to mobile, but a phone’s screen changes how movement, aiming, abilities and menus feel. Some Google Play reviewers say they preferred using a controller, while others report difficulties with touch controls. Controller support and compatibility should be checked against current official documentation rather than assumed for every model.

Is Warframe free on Android?
Yes. The game is free-to-play and the Google Play listing includes in-app purchases. The launch also offered an optional Fulmin Battlekit containing the Fulmin rifle, Split Chamber mod, Opula Ephemera and temporary boosters. That package was launch-era commercial content, not a requirement for beta access or for playing the game.

Do not use unofficial APKs, “beta access” keys or third-party account services. The official Google Play listing and Digital Extremes account systems are the appropriate routes to the game.
