Auroch Digital is developing it in partnership with Warhammer and poncle, the studio behind Vampire Survivors. It builds on the broad survivors-style formula while introducing Warhammer settings, characters, enemies and equipment created for this game.
Is Warhammer Survivors just a Vampire Survivors reskin?
No. Auroch Digital describes it as “a different, standalone game” and says its characters, stages, enemies, power-ups and secrets were created from scratch. The connection is the broad game foundation and the partnership with poncle, not a transfer of Vampire Survivors content into a Warhammer-themed add-on. How do the settings and playable characters differ?
Warhammer Survivors draws from two distinct Warhammer settings: Warhammer 40,000’s 41st Millennium and Warhammer Age of Sigmar’s Mortal Realms. Its announced roster spans characters and enemies from those worlds, with named Warhammer weapons and abilities shaping the presentation and builds. Warhammer Community has announced over 40 playable characters; that is a publisher-announced scale figure, not an independently verified final count. Warhammer Community’s announcement also describes the game’s announced content scale.
Vampire Survivors has its own setting and roster, but a detailed, current inventory-to-inventory comparison is not established here. The useful distinction is that Warhammer Survivors is built around licensed Warhammer worlds and their characters, rather than offering the same roster with different artwork.

What is similar about the combat and progression?
Both games fit the broad survivors-style loop: fight in an arena against growing enemy hordes, defeat enemies to level up, and build power through weapons and upgrades. Warhammer Survivors’ official descriptions also advertise weapon evolutions and persistent progression that increases power after a run ends. Nintendo’s listing describes unlockable characters, weapons, abilities and relics. Those descriptions establish the advertised shape of Warhammer Survivors, but they do not prove that its run lengths, progression systems or balance match Vampire Survivors feature for feature.
How does Warhammer Survivors make weapons character-specific?
Auroch’s character reveal gives examples of equipment tied to individual fighters. Morvenn Vahl’s Heavy Bolter Fidelis can evolve into Purgator Mirabilis with the Paragon Missile Launcher, while Lyssa Revenya’s Rope and Grapnel can evolve into a ghostly attack. These are advertised examples of how character identity can affect weapon evolution, rather than evidence that every character follows an identical upgrade path. Warhammer Community has announced more than 70 weapons. As with the character count, this is an announced figure, not a confirmed final total. The announcement does not establish a directly comparable current weapon count for Vampire Survivors.
When and where can you play Warhammer Survivors?
Warhammer Survivors is announced for November 10, 2026. A demo is available on Steam and Xbox PC, according to the current Warhammer Community announcement. The demo statement is limited to those PC storefronts; it does not establish demo availability on consoles or mobile.

Nintendo’s Switch 2 listing identifies that version as a digital release dated November 10, 2026. Switch 2 is one announced option, not a requirement to play the game on other platforms.

Which game should you look into?
Warhammer Survivors may be especially relevant to Warhammer fans interested in an arena-survival action game, and to Vampire Survivors players curious about seeing the broad formula applied to Warhammer settings. That is an audience fit, not a claim about which game is more enjoyable or offers better value.
