Yes—Concord was the first game Firewalk Studios announced in the official PlayStation record reviewed here. It was a 5v5 character-driven first-person shooter for PS5 and PC, but it is no longer playable: Sony took it offline in September 2024, permanently sunset it the following month, and closed Firewalk Studios.
Was Concord Firewalk Studios’ first game?

That wording matters—the announcement establishes it as Firewalk’s first publicly announced game in that record, but does not by itself establish every detail of the studio’s earlier development history. Can you still play Concord?
No. Firewalk announced on September 3, 2024, that the game would go offline beginning September 6 and that sales would stop immediately. Sony later confirmed that Concord was permanently sunset. A physical copy does not restore access to the online game.
Firewalk said full refunds would be offered to purchasers on PS5 and PC; players who received refunds would lose access. PlayStation Support directs people who bought a physical copy from another retailer to seek a refund through that retailer. Why did Sony shut down Concord?
In its October 29, 2024 announcement, Sony said some aspects of the game were exceptional, but it had not reached enough players and missed its targets in a highly competitive PvP first-person-shooter genre. That is Sony’s stated explanation, not an independently established account of every factor behind the decision.

What happened to Concord, in order?
- May 24, 2023: PlayStation’s Firewalk archive lists the Concord reveal.
- May 30, 2024: PlayStation detailed the game’s format, characters, platforms, and planned August launch.
- August 23, 2024: The announced global launch date; Digital Deluxe early access had begun August 20.
- September 3–6, 2024: Firewalk announced the shutdown and refunds on September 3; the game went offline beginning September 6.
- October 29, 2024: Sony confirmed the permanent sunset and Firewalk’s closure.
The pre-launch plan included seasonal content, characters, maps, modes, story vignettes, and an optional cosmetic store. That was a roadmap, not confirmation that every planned item was released. Official sources cited here do not provide a named sales, player-count, budget, or development-cost figure.
