What ban times does Ubisoft currently confirm?
Ubisoft’s Temporary ban in Rainbow Six Siege support article, updated June 22, 2026, says players who disconnect during a Ranked match receive a temporary ban and a Renown or Rank penalty. It does not state how long the ban lasts or publish an escalation table.
For an active sanction, check the notice shown in-game or the current Ubisoft support information for that specific sanction. The support page does not establish whether the duration depends on how long a player was absent, or whether all playlists currently use the same timer.
Where do the 60-minute to 48-hour timers come from?
Ubisoft’s 2021 North Star season update listed an abandon-penalty ladder of 60 minutes, 2 hours, 24 hours, or 48 hours, depending on escalation. It said the change applied to Ranked and Unranked, increased the abandon-penalty cooldown from 48 hours to 7 days, and made the Renown penalty last as long as the matchmaking restriction.

Those figures describe the policy Ubisoft published in 2021. The support article updated in June 2026 confirms a temporary ban and penalty for Ranked disconnections, but does not confirm that the old ladder remains in force. Treating those timers as today’s guaranteed schedule would go beyond what the current support article says.

Ubisoft’s 2016 Siege 3.4 patch article documented an older Ranked team-kill escalation: 15 minutes of matchmaking restriction and a 50% Renown penalty for 30 minutes for a first offence, followed by 30 minutes, 2 hours, 24 hours, and 7 days for successive offences. Ubisoft cautioned that disciplinary action could differ and suspensions were decided case by case. This is a dated example, not a current team-kill timer schedule.

Does a Siege ban lock your Ubisoft account?
Not necessarily. Ubisoft distinguishes a temporary Rainbow Six Siege ban from a temporary lock on the Ubisoft account. Its support article says other Ubisoft websites, games, and services remain accessible during a Siege game ban. For a sanction you believe was applied in error, Ubisoft directs players to contact Ubisoft Support.
What to do if a disconnection caused the penalty
- Read the in-game sanction notice. Use it to identify the sanction and its stated end time, if one is displayed.
- Check Ubisoft’s current support information. The temporary-ban article confirms the Ranked disconnection consequence, but does not provide a general duration table.
- Address the connection problem. Ubisoft’s support article directs players to its Rainbow Six Siege connectivity troubleshooting guide.
- Contact support if you believe the sanction is wrong. Use Ubisoft Support for help with a specific ban.
Can Ubisoft change the ban rules?
Yes. Ubisoft’s Player Protection Core Rules say the list may be updated, and conduct that violates fair play or player safety can still lead to sanctions even if it is not explicitly listed. The rules state: “Permanent sanctions mean exactly what they say, your access is gone, forever.”
