What was new in eFootball v5.0.0?
The update reached PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, Xbox on PC, Steam, iOS, and Android. KONAMI documented some changes separately for console/PC and mobile, so the lists of refreshed data and assets should not be read as identical across every platform. KONAMI’s official v5.0.0 version information describes the season update.

What is Link-up Play in eFootball?
Link-up Play is a new skill type assigned to selected managers. It activates only when both the Centerpiece and Key Man meet the specified position requirements and have the required Playing Styles. When those conditions are met, the pair receives an ability boost at specific moments.
It is therefore a conditional tactical effect, not a general boost that applies to any two players. To try it, check the manager’s Link-up Play requirements, then set the Centerpiece and Key Man to the specified positions with the required Playing Styles. KONAMI’s official page invites players to “Put Link-up Plays to the test and give yourself some new tactical options.”

How did v5.0 change movement and defending?
Movement pace
KONAMI said it adjusted movement speeds so a player’s in-game pace more closely reflects the transition from acceleration to top speed. It also changed AI-controlled players’ movement so they spend more time below top speed. These are KONAMI’s stated design changes; the version-information page does not provide independent measurements of their effect in matches.
Dribbling
KONAMI said dribbling was adjusted to make it easier to weave past opponents. The page describes the intended change, but does not provide a quantified comparison or establish how it affects every player, matchup, or platform.

Defending controls
KONAMI said the update put more emphasis on defending controls, but the v5.0.0 information does not specify the individual control changes. It does not support claims about particular inputs, tactics, or competitive outcomes.
Which team data and game assets were updated?
Team structures for numerous leagues were revised using new-season data. KONAMI also listed updates to in-game information and presentation, including uniforms, emblems, boots, gloves, balls, stadium graphics, player photos and data, commentary, and menu music.

The official page separates some details by console/PC and mobile. The categories listed should not be taken to mean every asset changed in the same way on every supported platform.
What fixes did the update include?
KONAMI listed a player-card border display issue and an eFootball League Division 1 rating message issue among its general fixes. The company clarified that the card-border issue was visual only and did not affect player ability.

For mobile, KONAMI also listed a settings restriction to address an aspect-ratio issue on some devices. The version information does not describe that restriction as a general change for all platforms.
