Piglins do not have a guaranteed gold-ingot drop when killed. Their notable death drops are conditional: a piece of equipment they spawned with may drop, and eligible items they picked up can fall from their inventory. Gold ingots have a narrow exception if a piglin is killed in one hit while admiring one.
What equipment can a piglin drop?
An adult piglin may spawn holding a golden sword or crossbow and can sometimes spawn with gold armor. Each naturally held or worn equipment piece has a reported 8.5% chance to drop when the piglin is killed by a player or tamed wolf. The chance applies separately to each eligible piece, so a weapon or armor piece is possible, not guaranteed. A dropped piece has randomized durability. Minecraft Wiki’s piglin reference reports that each Looting level adds 1 percentage point to this equipment-drop chance.
Official Bedrock melee gear and Bedrock ranged gear loot-table pages show golden-sword and crossbow entries, respectively; the melee gear material also references an armor-set table. Those snippets document Bedrock gear tables, not the exact Java implementation. Babies spawn without equipment, so they have no naturally equipped weapon or armor piece to drop.
What happens to items a piglin picked up?
Piglins normally drop items they are carrying when killed, with gold ingots and raw or cooked porkchops listed as exceptions. Gold ingots have a special edge case: a piglin killed in one hit while admiring an ingot drops it. If the piglin is hit but survives, it stops admiring the ingot and the ingot vanishes. The piglin reference describes these inventory behaviors.

Can a piglin drop its head?
Yes, but this is a special drop rather than ordinary loot: a charged creeper must kill the piglin for it to drop a piglin head. The piglin reference’s version history records the feature’s addition in Java 1.20 and Bedrock 1.19.60 Preview; those are the versions cited for its introduction, not a claim about every later version’s other mechanics. See the piglin reference and version history.
How much experience does a piglin drop?
The piglin reference reports 5 experience points for an adult killed by a player or tamed wolf. Baby piglins have edition-specific experience values, so a baby’s XP amount should be checked against the edition being played rather than treated as one universal number. The reference gives the edition-specific details.

Is bartering a death drop?
No. Bartering happens while an adult piglin is alive: it examines a gold ingot and returns a random barter item after a delay. Baby piglins do not barter. Barter rewards are therefore not part of a piglin’s death-drop list. The bartering reference explains the interaction.
