An LEC support helps shape how the team drafts, gathers and denies information, and coordinates its next move. The role is not just protecting the bot-lane partner, and it does not automatically make the support the team’s sole shot-caller: the value of a pick depends on the draft, vision is a team responsibility, and calls work only when teammates can act on them together.
What does an LEC support do?
An LEC support plays the support position for a professional League of Legends team. The role connects three kinds of work: bringing useful functions to the draft, helping the team manage information through vision, and communicating what the team can do with the position and information it has.

If the draft’s tools make an approach more threatening, the team may have a different set of options than it would with a pick centered on protecting an ally. That is a planning distinction, not a promise that a particular pick can enter every contested area safely.
How does vision help an LEC team?
Vision is information work: the team wants sight where it needs to make a decision, while also considering what information it can deny the opponents. The support participates heavily in that work, but it belongs to the team rather than to one player alone.
