The Cursed Skull trades the user’s life for a boost to nearby Scouts: the PEAK Wiki reports that activating it immediately kills the user while other Scouts within 1,440 meters receive 100 bonus stamina and have most afflictions cleared. It does not revive dead teammates, according to the item-specific entry. These are community-wiki-reported mechanics, not officially confirmed developer documentation.
What happens when you use the Cursed Skull?
Activating the skull immediately kills the Scout who uses it. Other Scouts within 1,440 meters are reported to gain 100 bonus stamina and have their afflictions cleared. Curse is not cleared; the wiki also flags a possible exception for Petrify. The item-specific description is available on the PEAK Wiki’s Cursed Skull page.
In practical terms, it is a group-support consumable with a severe personal cost: the user dies so nearby players can benefit. Its effect is not a resurrection. Although a 2025 Destructoid guide says the skull revives allies, that claim conflicts with the wiki’s item-specific description, which lists stamina and affliction clearing instead. The discrepancy is not settled by official documentation in the available sources.
Where can you find it?
The PEAK Wiki lists Ancient Luggage as a spawn source. It says the skull does not spawn in solo play. Its listed weight is 5. The page’s history records its introduction in version 1.0 on June 16, 2025; a version 1.1.a entry dated June 17, 2025 says solo spawning and spawning from Scout Statues were removed, while Ancient Luggage remained a source.

What happens if the skull is cooked?
Cooking the skull activates it immediately, creates a dynamite explosion, and destroys the item. The wiki describes different outcomes depending on how it is cooked:
- Direct use: the activating Scout dies, while nearby Scouts receive the reported support effects.
- Lava, heated ground, or explosives: cooking activates the skull without killing Scouts.
- Lava or heated ground while it is in a backpack: the holder takes injury damage and knockback.
If the user has placed a Checkpoint Flag, the wiki says using the skull grants that player 50 bonus stamina and normal checkpoint respawn rules apply. This checkpoint case is distinct from the usual immediate-death outcome.
How have its effects changed?
The PEAK Wiki’s patch-history entries say version 1.5.a, dated June 24, 2025, added bonus stamina for friends alongside the skull’s other effects. An entry dated November 7, 2025 says the ambient sounds for the skull and Book of Bones are muted while either is in a backpack. These are dates recorded in the wiki’s history, not a claim about the game’s current version.

The detailed mechanics above come primarily from the community-maintained PEAK Wiki item entry, with its Mystical Items summary also describing the death, stamina benefit, and Curse exception. A PEAK Game Space item compendium describes effects on nearby teammates but gives a different stamina amount and differs on other details. Because the sources do not agree and no official developer confirmation is cited, treat the precise mechanics as wiki-reported rather than independently verified.
