Konami’s official Japanese character page includes Eddie’s profile and image. The page does not publish a separate explanation of the design or date the profile.
What Konami’s profile says about Eddie
Konami describes Eddie as slow to act, kind-hearted, without any particular strengths, and extremely afraid of being hurt. The profile also identifies him as another visitor to Silent Hill and says his reason for coming is unknown.

Who plays Eddie in the remake?
Konami’s official character page lists Scott Haining and Danny Kirrane together in Eddie’s English cast credit. It does not specify which performer supplied which part of the performance, so the credit should not be divided into separate voice or visual-performance roles.
When did the Silent Hill 2 remake release?
The remake launched on October 8, 2024, for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, according to Konami’s European release-day announcement. Konami lists expanded explorable areas, revised combat, an over-the-shoulder camera and added cut-scenes among the remake’s changes.

The remake retains the core story while changing how players experience it. In a May 30, 2024 PlayStation.Blog discussion, Bloober Team creative director Mateusz Lenart said some event settings could change while their effect on the story remained; he also described dialogue adjustments intended to add nuance. The remake uses an over-the-shoulder perspective, broadens combat options while keeping James an inexperienced everyman, and makes slight puzzle changes.
Konami announced the project in 2022 as a remake of the psychological horror game first released in 2001, with Bloober Team developing and series composer Akira Yamaoka and artist Masahiro Ito collaborating. Lenart described the approach as “a remake with respect toward the original.”
