UFL is Strikerz’s free-to-play football game, built around online play and community feedback. In an interview published on November 27, 2024, then-CEO Eugene Nashilov described its intended gameplay as a midpoint between rival football games and discussed the monetization plans being considered ahead of release. Strikerz now lists UFL for PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S and PC; Nashilov has since left the CEO role.
What is UFL, and who makes it?
UFL is a free-to-play football game developed by Strikerz. The company currently describes it as “skill-first” and “community-powered,” and lists optional cross-play among its features. Strikerz says it was founded in 2016, is headquartered in Cyprus, has four regional offices and employs more than 400 people worldwide; those are the company’s own figures and description. The interview with Nashilov appeared as the game approached its console release. His answers are useful as a record of the design aims and plans he described at that time, not as a definitive guide to every current feature or policy.
How did Nashilov describe UFL’s gameplay?
Asked how UFL could stand apart from established football games, Nashilov characterized one competitor as more arcade-like and the other as slower and closer to real life. He said UFL was intended to sit between those approaches, adding, “So, I think we’re somewhere in the middle.” That was his own positioning of the game in a November 27, 2024 interview, not an independent assessment of how UFL plays. He connected that middle ground to online competition: a football game that felt accessible to play while still rewarding skill. The interview does not establish that UFL is objectively more realistic, balanced or competitive than another title.
What did he say about community feedback?
Nashilov called community involvement a cornerstone of development. He said Strikerz gathered feedback from playtests and surveys, reviewed responses across game versions, and used them to spot bugs and design issues. He also said the company welcomed both criticism and positive reactions.

Those comments describe the development approach he presented in the interview. They do not show how representative the feedback was or independently verify how much it changed the released game.
What did Nashilov say about free-to-play and monetization?
Nashilov argued that free-to-play would make it easier for players to try UFL and fit the idea that football should be accessible. Strikerz’s current official site still lists the game as free to play. Strikerz’s official UFL site

His more detailed monetization comments were made before release, in November 2024. He criticized loot-box-based player acquisition and said UFL would not require players to buy loot boxes to obtain specific players. He described a battle pass with free and paid tiers, and said paid vanity items would not provide a competitive advantage. These are Nashilov’s statements about the intended model at that point; the current official page does not confirm the present monetization details.
He also floated a paid offline career mode as a possibility. That was not a confirmed feature, and the cited current product information does not establish whether such a mode exists.

Which platforms is UFL on now, and what is known about cross-play?
Strikerz currently lists UFL for PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and says optional cross-play is available. Its site does not specify which platform pairings can play together. Strikerz’s official UFL site
In the 2024 interview, Nashilov said cross-play between Xbox and PlayStation was in place. He described the company as reluctant at that time to combine PC and console play because of cheating concerns. He also discussed console, PC and mobile as separate experiences, and said matches could use dedicated servers or peer-to-peer connections, with the mix subject to change. Those remarks are a snapshot of plans and infrastructure discussions then; they do not establish current cross-play pairings, mobile availability or the present server model.

Is Eugene Nashilov still Strikerz’s CEO?
No. Nashilov later announced that he was leaving the CEO role, writing, “Today I need to share that I am closing my chapter as CEO of STRIKERZ / UFL.” Strikerz separately thanked him for his contributions over the past ten years. The company’s post corroborates his departure; the interview should therefore be read as an account of what he said while he was CEO, not a current executive statement. In his departure statement, Nashilov also claimed UFL had reached “10M+ unique players on all platforms.” That figure is his claim in the statement, not an independently verified player count.
What clubs and brands did the sources mention?
The interview named Celtic, Rangers, Sporting CP and West Ham United among clubs whose crests, jerseys and gear were expected to be available. Strikerz’s current site lists adidas, Joma, Kappa and Umbro as brand partners, and Aris Limassol FC, Hashtag United FC, FC Porto and Sporting CP as club collaborations. Nashilov’s departure statement named Cristiano Ronaldo, FIFPRO, FIFA, Transfermarkt, adidas, Nike and Umbro. These lists reflect different sources and dates; none should be treated as a complete current roster or proof that every partner’s products appear in the game today.
