September 3, 2025, marked the return of Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Memory Mania mini-event. Players were asked to find Riley’s phone around the Valley, with new rewards including the Nostalgia Capybara. The event was scheduled to run through September 16, 2025, so it is no longer active.
What happened in Disney Dreamlight Valley on September 3?
Gameloft announced the event in its August 18, 2025 Emotional Rescue Update Patch Notes. The notes said: “Starting on September 3rd, get ready to tap into the power of Nostalgia with the return of the Memory Mania Mini-Event! This time, you’ll need to locate Riley’s phone as it spawns around the Valley! Participate to earn new rewards, including the Nostalgia Capybara, until September 16th!”
Memory Mania was part of the broader Emotional Rescue update, which arrived August 20, 2025 and featured Joy and Sadness from Disney/Pixar’s Inside Out. The update also included the Headquarters realm, a Retro Roadtrip Star Path, and DreamSnaps changes; those were update features, not all September 3 launches.
When did Memory Mania start and end?
The mini-event was scheduled to begin September 3 and end September 16, 2025. Those dates refer to the announced 2025 run; they do not establish a schedule for any future return.

What did players need to do, and what was the reward?
The official announcement described the task as locating Riley’s phone as it spawned around the Valley. It named the Nostalgia Capybara among the new rewards, but did not present that as the only reward or give a full reward-by-reward walkthrough.
The community-maintained Memory Mania history records additional historical event details. For the 2025 dates and phone objective, Gameloft’s patch notes are the primary source.

Is Memory Mania still available?
No. The announced opportunity ended September 16, 2025. The patch notes establish that run’s dates, but do not confirm whether or when the event will return again.

That was a distinct announcement, not the Memory Mania event. For readers asking what the game event was that day, the clearest answer is the mini-event’s return.
