Does Kawaki officially remove Naruto as Hokage?
No formal removal is established in the cited Chapter 77 recap. It describes Naruto being sealed away, not losing his title or being replaced as Hokage. The distinction matters: Kawaki’s action sidelines Naruto from events in the village, but that is not the same as an official change in office.

Shueisha’s official series description identifies Naruto as the Seventh Hokage governing the Hidden Leaf at the series’ premise. That description provides the role’s context; it does not establish a later revocation of his title.
How should a later recap about Naruto’s condition be read?
A separate NARUTO OFFICIAL SITE character recap says Naruto’s condition is unknown at a later point in its account. It describes Kawaki sensing the Hokage’s chakra through his prosthetic arm and using space-time ninjutsu with Boruto’s help. Those details belong to a distinct plot moment and should not be treated as part of the Chapter 77 sealing scene.
